I took a deep breath. “Get the details, and compile a press release to address it. Call in Antonio too.”

 He nodded. “Yes sir.”

I thought about it. “While we’re at it, let’s use this for our own benefit. If the leaked documents are accurate, and show how I was pushed out, then include a statement announcing the founding of the Beischel Business Incubator.”

 “Are you sure?”

“It’s a bit early, but not by much. We’re not going to get two bites of the apple, especially if Robert’s ship starts sinking. My message is that I’ve moved on to other ventures, and that my focus is the same as it’s always been: helping businesses thrive.”

 “Got it.”

Victor rushed back to his office, and I returned to David’s side.

 “What’s wrong?” David murmured.

“Seems somebody got tired of Robert’s lies, and leaked the truth. Victor’s fielding press inquiries until Antonio can get here.”

He glanced down and bit his lip.

I tilted his chin up. “Whatever you need to say is more important, omega-mine. Ok?”

 He nodded.

I turned back to my guests, and noticed their inquiring gazes.

“Apologies,” I started. “Something came up that required my attention. Shall we have drinks?”

Everybody nodded and we relocated to the small seating area as the servers offered coffee and cocktails. However the mood was muted, and the party was over less than an hour later.

Finally I thanked my final guest at the door, then turned to David.

“I need to make sure that Victor doesn’t need any information. Wait for me in the living room?”

 He nodded, and seemed nervous.

I walked over and set my hands on his shoulders. “I’m here David. Whatever it is, I’m here. I’ll always be here.”

He calmed somewhat and smiled. “Thank you.”

I leaned in to kiss his forehead. “I’ll be right there. Ok?”

 “Ok.”

I watched for a moment as he walked off, admiring his ass, then hustled to Victor’s office. News moves fast, and this was my opportunity to set the record straight.
