I walked over and wrapped my arms around him, loving the feel of his skin pressed against mine.

 “G’morning,” he mumbled.

I kissed his hair. “Good morning.”

 “Do I smell food?”

 I chuckled. “It just arrived.”

He took a deep breath, sighing happily, and I realized that he was savoring my scent.

I tightened my arms around him. “You’re not hurting too much, are you?”

He hummed. “I’m sore, but a good sore.”

“You should take it easy today.”

He laughed. “I’ll be fine after some food and coffee. It wasn’t like I had a busy day planned.”

I ran my hand up and down his back. “What were you going to do today?”

“I was going to inventory what you had on hand, then hit up the farmers’ market.”

I smiled. “Do you mind if I join you?”

He looked up, and I saw confusion in his blue eyes. “Aren’t you busy?”

I shook my head. “I had Antonio cancel all my appointments today.”

 “Why?”

I reached up and traced my thumb over his cheek. “Because I wanted to spend today with you.”

 “Oh…”

I smiled at his breathless tone, then leaned in to kiss him.

He looped his arms around my neck, holding me close as I leisurely explored his mouth with my tongue.

“We should eat before it gets cold,” I murmured as we parted.

 He sighed. “Ok.”

I guided him to the table and had him take a seat. Then I remembered that he’d mentioned coffee, so I went into the kitchen to make him some. Luckily I knew how to use his pod coffee maker, and a minute later I had a steaming cup for him.

“How do you take your coffee?” I asked.

 “Black is fine,” he replied.

I carried the mug out to him, then made another for myself before joining him at the table.

“We should eat quickly,” David said. “Mornings are the best time for the farmers’ market.”

 “I’ll follow your lead.”

He smiled at me as we dug into the meal. I couldn’t recall if I’d ever been to a farmers’ market before, but I was looking forward to anything that had me spending time with him.
