"You will," he says. "Tonight I will claim you, and you will submit to my desires."
"I hate you." I lean back against the wall and close my eyes. "I don't want you to touch me."
"You're mine," he says. "You will do as I say."
"Fuck you." I start crying and run into the bathroom. I lock myself inside and cry until I can't breathe anymore. What did I ever do to deserve this?

DHAKAR
Ithink about what Hexal told me... maybe I should make Aila my mate. Maybe this way I'll be able to get over Emma. She broke my heart into tiny little pieces. And now I don't know if I can ever really love again because of it. That's it! I've decided. Aila, the Zathurian, shall become my mate.
I go to the center of the village looking for Hexal. I enter the training grounds and shout to him. "Hexal, I need a word with you."
He turns around and faces me. He has his swords out and is ready for anything, even war. “Yes, Veerha Dhakar," he replies.
"Prepare the ceremony. I'm taking Aila as my mate," I say boldly.
His face lights up with joy. "Of course, Veerha Dhakar. You deserve her. She's beautiful."
"She is," I agree with a nod. "And she's sweet too. But I want to do this properly."
Hexal smiles widely at me. "I will prepare the ceremony immediately." He turns on his heels and goes back into the village.
I walk through the village towards the temple. It's made from white stone that has been painted in different colors. There are lots of columns and sculptures all over the temple. On one side there's a golden statue of the Goddess and on the other is a large altar. The walls are decorated with paintings of the different Gods and Goddesses.
The priestess comes out of the temple when she sees me. She bows low before me. "Welcome to our Temple of Love, Veerha Dhakar."
"Thank you, Priestess. I would like to ask you something," I say.
"Ask away, Veerha Dhakar," the woman says politely.
"I wanted to take Aila as my mate, but I was wondering how do we do it? I don't have any idea what kind of ceremony you perform."
"We have a very unique ceremony here," the priestess tells me with a smile. "Would you like to come inside?"
"If you please, Priestess," I reply.
The two of us walk through the temple until we reach the altar.
"This is where we celebrate the beginning of a new life. I am called Tha'ashil, and I shall be performing the ceremony. Would you like to sit down?" she asks kindly.
"That'd be nice," I say.
Tha'ashil gestures towards the chairs placed near the altar. I choose the one closest to her and she sits on the one opposite me.
"After the ceremony, you shall be united for eternity. Aila shall become your mate, your fated soul."
"What does that mean exactly?" I ask.
"It means that you shall always be together," Tha'ashil explains. "You shall never separate from each other, no matter what happens. It is forbidden by the gods." She looks deep into my eyes. "Will you take Aila as your mate?"
"Yes, I will," I say.
"Then let us prepare for the ceremony. We shall perform it at sunset," she tells me.
"Of course, Priestess," I say.
