Ilook at the female in front of me and frown at her reactions. There’s a discrepancy between what she says and the fear I smell hiding inside her. She fears me and yet I sense she is attracted to me. I hate this because it makes me want her more.
"You will address me as Veerha Dhakar," I say. "Unless you wish to die."
She places her hand over her heart and bows her head. "Yes, Veerha Dhakar, please forgive me for my disrespect. It won't happen again."
I am irritated that she's so afraid of me. "Why did you come here on Bellaria?"
She smiles nervously and looks at the floor.
” Why do you care? I’m not a fucking spy.”
I raise my eyebrow and scowl at her. "Spy?" I ask surprised.
Her eyes grow wide when she realizes how stupid she sounds.
"No, I'm not a spy."
I shake my head and sigh. I don't know why I expected better from humans. "You will tell me what you came for or I'll send you back home on the next shuttle."
She nods and continues speaking. “Do you think that’s a threat? I’d be more than happy to go home,” she adds.
I frown and turn away from her. "What is your name?" I ask coldly.
"Emma," she replies with a shaky voice.
I take in a deep breath and then walk toward her. She starts to tremble and her hands clench into fists.
As I approach her, I reach out and touch her cheek. Her eyes widen but she doesn't pull away.
I cup her face with my big hand and push my lips against hers. “So soft.”
She trembles and closes her eyes.
I continue kissing her until I feel her relax against me. I release her and step back.
"Now, tell me what you came for," I command.
She takes in a shaky breath before speaking. "I don’t even know how I got to this God-forgotten place.” She sighs and glares at me.
"Are you okay?" I ask concerned.
"Yes. Just a bit shocked," she mutters.
"Well, get used to it. You're stuck here forever," I reply.
"Forever? How long have I been here?" she asks confused.
I chuckle and shake my head. "You've only been here one day. We took you yesterday and brought you to our village today."
"How did you know where to find me?" she inquires.
"We followed the trail of your scent," I answer.
She narrows her gaze at me. "Scent?" she asks confused.
"Your scent," I explain. "It led us straight to you."
"My scent...so, you can smell me?" she asks incredulously.
