I lean forward and place my forehead on Torr's shoulder. "I hate them. The Valkryans are evil and mean people. I hope we kill every last one of them before they hurt any more innocent beings."
"Me too," Torr replies.

"How do we enter the city?"Torr asks me.
I rub my chin thoughtfully. "The gates are closed and guarded 24/7. If we try to break in, there will be no mercy. We would die instantly. Even if we somehow manage to sneak past the guards, the Valkryans have sensors everywhere. There is nowhere to hide once inside their walls."
Torr looks at me and tilts his head. "So, what do you suggest we do?"
"First, we need to gather information. Then, we can devise an escape plan. Once we know where to start, we might stand a chance. For now, let's just stay hidden. No point in drawing attention to ourselves right away."
"Why don't we just take down the guards at the gate and get their uniforms?" Torr says.
I nod. " That's a great idea."
He smirks and smiles. "You're full of surprises, Dhakar."
I chuckle and smirk back. "Thanks, I guess."
We head to the main gate and wait until night falls. After dark, we approach the guard post. Two aliens are posted outside, each armed with a laser rifle. As soon as they see us, they turn around and face us. One points his weapon straight at me while the other aims it toward Torr.
"Don't move!" he yells and fires off two shots.
I hold up my hands. "Whoa! Hold your fire."
One of the aliens lowers his gun and aims at me. "Put your weapons down, Dhakar."
I raise my arms slowly as Torr does the same. "We don't have any weapons," I shout. "Please put yours down first."
Both aliens lower their rifles and then walk over to us. I keep my hands raised and step aside. A few feet behind me, Torr follows suit.
"Where are your guns?" the soldier holding the laser rifle demands.
I shake my head. "None. Please search both of us. You will find nothing."
When the Valkryan approaches I grab his arm and pull him close. His mouth opens slightly as he gasps for air. My fingers wrap tightly around his throat and squeeze. I lift him into the sky with ease.
His body hangs limply from my grasp. Blood trickles down his neck from where my nails dug deep enough to cause damage. I drop him hard onto the ground. Before he hits, I release my grip and watch him fall lifelessly to the dirt floor.
I stare at his dead form, stunned that I did such a thing. It was instinctive and almost like magic—like my ancestors had taught me all those years ago when training me.
"What the hell?" the other Valkryan screams.
Before I can react, I feel strong hands grabbing me and pulling me backward. They throw me against the wall, pinning my arms above my head. Another hand grabs my leg and pulls it high. With another tug, I'm pulled even higher.
My eyes dart frantically about looking for Torr. Instead, I find myself staring directly into the barrel of a laser rifle.
"Stay still," the soldier orders.
"No!" I scream.
"If you move again, I'll shoot." The soldier places his finger on the trigger.
Torr comes from behind the Valkryan and cuts his throat with one quick motion. In a blink, the other alien is dead too.
"Good job Torr," I say and pat him on the shoulder. "The road is clear. We can get inside the city."
