"But you're the one who told me how dangerous Bellaria is," she says.
"I will always keep you safe," I say.
She shakes her head. "No, that is not true. What if something happens to you? Who will protect me then?"
"I will protect you no matter what," I tell her.
"How can you promise that?" She asks me with a frown on her face.
"Because I am Dhakar and I will always protect you," I tell her.
"That's not exactly reassuring," she says and sighs. "I don't want to be your mate."
"You will be my mate," I insist.
She shakes her head again.
"Emma!" I shout.
"Yes?" She says.
"Look into my eyes," I command.
She looks at me for a moment and then she does as I asked. "What do you see?" I ask her.
"Your anger," she says.
"I am angry because you refuse to be my mate. I want to be your mate more than anything else in the world. I am going to make you mine if it kills me," I tell her.
"I..." She starts to say but I cut her off.
"I won't take no for an answer," I say and shake my head. "If you go back to Valkrya, I will hunt down every single male on that planet until I find you and kill them. I will make sure they are dead. If you want to remain alive then you will be my mate. That is all there is to it."
"Dhakar," she says quietly and takes a step closer to me. "I'm not a fucking property so you or anyone else could claim me. I'm not an animal for God's sake."
"You will be my mate," I say to her.
"No. I will never be yours," she says firmly.
"I will have you," I say and pull her close to me. I bring her body closer to mine, her breasts pushing against my chest. I place my hands on her hips and hold her tightly to me.
"Stop this! This isn't real. You can't force me to be your mate," she says.
"It doesn't matter," I tell her. "I am Dhakar and you will obey me."
She stares up at me angrily.
"I will make you mine," I tell her with confidence.
"You're insane!" she shouts.
"Insane? I think not," I say. "Just look into my eyes again," I command her to do so.
