Tonight had been her first night out alone since coming to Ireland, her first night of doing something for herself. As the wind rushed around her, she felt a little giddy from that newness.
“How about another ride along the beach tomorrow?” she asked, smiling as she recalled how she’d written a long journal entry about their ride so she could read it again whenever she wanted to recapture the feelings, ones she knew were beautiful and rare. She didn’t take moments like those for granted. “I’ll be finished with my second class at one.”
Oddly, she wasn’t scared of yet another class. Wasn’t that something she’d write about in her journal later as something to be grateful for? She’d gotten through tonight. She would manage tomorrow.
“I’d love that,” he said, the planes of his face looking so masculine in the soft light in the parking lot.
Spontaneously, she rose up and kissed his cheek. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
He pressed his hand to her back, the touch laden with the new promise between them. “That you will, love.”
When he called herlove, it unlocked something long buried in her heart. Hope. Happiness. Contentment. All those feelings made her think anything was possible.
Precious feelings Megan Bennet wanted to embrace as much as the man in front of her.
