We were insatiable, not for eating, but each other. I’d had Kitten in every position imaginable and every place in her house–and stable–that would work. She might have been a virgin the other day, but she sure as hell wasn’t one now. She asked for what she wanted, which even included getting her ass spanked for fun. It got her hot. Dripping. Moaning.

I didn’t need anything to get going. Just thinking about Kitten and I was hard. Always.

That was why I was pushing one cart, to hide my half-hard dick from the townsfolk innocently doing their shopping. Zeb pushed the other and Kitten was in front, pulling things from the shelves as directed. Ma had gone off to find some kind of breadcrumbs in the baking aisle.

“I can’t believe you need two carts,” Kitten said, grabbing the third bag Zeb wanted. She stared at it, then the two half-full carts. We hadn’t even made it through half the aisles. “Maybe I can.”

This was Ma’s mid-week shopping trip and I had thrown a bunch of things in for me and Kitten to take home, too. Tonight, tacos.

“I’m a growing boy,” Zeb said, grinning at her.

She smiled back. She’d known him since he was a little kid and he’d pretty much grown up with her as a second sister, being Lainey’s friend. Soon, she’d be an actual sister.

“When I head back to school in a few weeks for pre-season practices, I’ll be eating twice as much.”

Kitten’s brows winged up. “I have no idea how your mother kept eight boys fed.”

“Two grocery carts,” Zeb replied, as if that was the answer. “You can–”

I was eyeing Kitten and didn’t notice a woman hadstopped in front of us until I almost bumped her with my cart. “I can’t believe you picked her over me,” she snapped.

It was Shayna Margensky. She was a few years younger, in Hayes’ class in school. I didn’t know her all that well, but our parents were friends. In fact, Pa used to be in a bowling league with Mr. Margensky back in the day. I’d seen her at The Roadside the last time I was there, but I hadn’t done more than wave to her and tip my hat on the way in because not five minutes later, Kitten had come sit right in my lap and kissed me.

She was pretty enough, with strawberry blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail, a round face and bright blue eyes. As long as I could remember, she was curvy and showed off what God gave her in snug tops and too tight jeans. Me and my brothers all knew the stories about women in town. We didn’t talk about all our conquests, but I didn’t remember any of them ever having a go with Shayna. I certainly hadn’t.

Maybe it was because she was a little crazy. Her father ran the town mortuary and Shayna had a little too much interest in his profession, driving the hearse to school when there wasn’t a need for it.

The idea of being with her actually made my balls draw up.

I didn’t know what she was talking about and it took me a second or two to process. Thankfully, Zebspoke first and gave her his signature smile. Zeb could flirt the panties off a nun, but he was eight years younger than Shayna, so I knew he was only being friendly. He also knew she was a little off. “Hey, Shayna. Making chili tonight?”

She looked down at the cans of beans in each of her hands.

“You know Katie Camden?” Zeb asked, making the introduction.

Shayna narrowed her eyes at Kitten.

“She’s Bray’s girl. Isn’t that great?” Zeb added.

“You ruined everything!” she shouted.

My eyes widened at her outburst. What. The. Fuck?

Zeb, who’d been leaning his forearms on the cart handle, stood upright. “Whoa, there.”

Kitten backed up into the shelves of potato chips.

I abandoned the cart and walked around toward her. “What’s the matter, Shayna?”

She spun on her heel and glared. “We were supposed to be together. Not you andher.”

Shayna tipped her head toward Kitten.

“What are you talking about?” I wondered.

“At The Roadside. You winked at me. Smiled.”

“I remember.”
