“Listen up, sunshine,” I whispered. “I’ve said it once, but I’ll say it a thousand times if that’s what it takes to get through to you.” My hips pressed against hers, and her breath hitched. “I am not friends with those idiots. I nearly beat them with a fucking weight when I found out what they did.”
Her mouth opened—probably to argue—but I covered it with my hand. “It’s my turn to talk, cher.” Her glare turned icy, but I didn’t waver. “I’m sorry I didn’t call or text. After we talked, Addy confronted me about being with you in Baton Rouge, and I panicked. It was a dick move, and I shouldn’t have done it. But I did, and here we are.”
Something wet and warm hit my palm, and I yanked it back. “Did you justlickme?”
“Serves you right,” she snapped.
“Goddamn it, woman.” Wiping my hand on my joggers, I cupped the back of her neck, bringing my face inches from hers. “Baby, you think glaring at me and biting my head off is going to scare me off. It won’t. It just turns me on.”
I felt her throat work as she swallowed. Her ragged breath coasted across my lips, words spilling out in a heated whisper that seared my skin. “You… you can’t just come over here and… crowd me against a wall and expect me to forgive you.”
“I don’t,” I whispered back, my thumb brushing over her plump bottom lip.
She shifted her face away from my hold, locking her gaze with mine. “Then what do you want?”
What I wanted was to kiss her until we forgot our names. Until neither of us could tell where one ended and the otherbegan. I half-expected her to laugh in my face when I said as much, but instead, her eyes widened, and her lip disappeared between her teeth.
“I’m still mad at you,” she breathed as I inched closer to her mouth.
“I know.”
“You can’t just ghost me and expect everything to be fine.”
Her protests were growing weaker, breathier, as her head tilted instinctively to the side, our lips drawing closer. I smiled and repeated softly, “I know.”
“I… I’m still mad at you,” she murmured, her resolve cracking.
“So you’ve said.” When she started to pull away, I tightened my hold just enough to keep her close. “Baby, you can be mad at me all you want. It just means I get to make it up to you.” Her breath hitched as I ran my nose along hers. “Now, if you’re done arguing, I’d like to start making amends.”
Her mouth parted, likely with another flimsy excuse, but I didn’t give her the chance to voice it. My lips claimed hers, and she melted into me. Her hands slid up my chest, fingers tangling in my shirt as she pulled me closer.
Letting go of her neck, I gripped her hips and lifted her against the wall. She wrapped her legs around me, her hands threading into my hair as I trailed my lips down her neck, pushing aside the collar of her shirt to nip at the sensitive skin where it met her shoulder.
“Taylor,” she mewled, her hips rocking against mine.
God, that felt good. Too damn good.
Dropping my head into the crook of her neck, I gripped her hips tighter, stilling her movement as a groan tore from my throat. “Sunshine, you’re going to make me lose it if you keep that up.”
“I need… fuck, Taylor, I need you. Please.”
“I know, cher.” Sliding one hand around to cup her ass, the other drifted closer to her center. Her black leggings hid nothing—I couldfeel her heat, her wetness, through the thin fabric. “Jesus, Mags,” I groaned, running my fingers along the seam of her pants. She shuddered, her fingers tightening in my hair as her legs locked around my hips.
I adjusted my touch, reading every cue her body gave me. I varied the pressure, traded long swipes for slow, deliberate circles that narrowed into faster, smaller ones. My lips grazed her neck, my teeth teasing the tender skin, while my free hand explored her curves. When I found the rhythm that had her back arching and her head falling against the wall, a deep male pride swelled in my chest.
Her body quivered and tightened as she shattered, her cry of release vibrating against my lips as I kissed her through it. She melted into my arms, boneless and trembling.
We stayed like that, our heavy breaths mingling, my forehead resting against hers. When she squirmed in my hold, I gently lowered her to her feet, though I couldn’t step back. I didn’t want to. Seeing her unravel like that was intoxicating. And I knew it was only a glimpse. I needed to see her laid out beneath me, my name falling from her lips as I pushed her to ecstasy again and again.
“Sweet baby cheeses, cowboy. That’s... that’s never happened before,” she murmured on a breathy exhale, her hand sliding down my chest.
“Really?” I asked, just as breathless.
She nodded. When her fingers reached my waistband, I caught her wrist gently, halting her descent. Confusion flickered in her eyes as they met mine.
Cupping her cheek, I brushed my thumb across her soft skin and smiled. “I’m fine, cher.”
She raised a brow, amused. “The tent in your pants would beg to differ, cowboy.”
