Minx looks up to see who I’m talking about. “Fuckin’ Carmine. That bitch is too stupid and never fuckin’ learns. You know, Tink broke her nose, because she was tryin’ to move in on one of her guys. That’s why it looks fucked up.”
“Carmine,” I repeat her name. “She and I had some words yesterday. Looks like we’re going to have more today.”
I stand from my chair and walk toward Bull, trying to get to him before she does. She’s a couple feet away from him when I reach him.
“Hey, Goddess,” he says when I’m right by him.
I take a seat on his lap, wrapping my arms around his neck with a smile. “Hi, honey.”
Carmine scoffs and gives me a death glare as she walks by.
“You stakin’ your claim on me now?” he laughs.
“I sure am,” I say, sweet as sugar.
He laughs again and wraps his arms around my waist. “I’m all yours, Goddess.”
Chapter Twenty-One
Bull
This weekend has been one for the books. This has been the most I’ve spent time with my family in one weekend. I typically bury myself with work to drown out my overbearing thoughts. I have a woman by my side who makes me happier than I’ve been since Cami passed away. A woman whom I’m never lettin’ go. All I wanna do is get rid of that piece of shit ex of hers, so Athena doesn’t feel like she has to live in fear anymore.
I’m sittin’ with Athena on my lap while she picks at the food on her plate, talkin’ to some of the guys when Tech walks over to us.
“Prez, I got somethin’. We, uh, should probably talk in Church,” he says.
“Now?” I ask him.
“Yeah, I think this ties in with another problem of ours,” he explains.
“Fuck,” I mutter. “Alright. Give me five minutes and I’ll get the guys inside.”
Tech nods his head and turns to head back inside.
“Another problem?” Athena asks.
“It’s nothin’, Goddess,” I tell her, not wanting her to worry more than I know she already will. “I’ll be back soon.”
She hops off my lap to let me up. I stand, giving her a kiss before whistling to get everyone’s attention. Everyone stops talkin’ and looks in my direction.
“Church, now,” I say to all the brothers. They all stop what they’re doin’ and head inside. I give Athena one more kiss before following my men inside.
They’re all sittin’ in their rightful seats when I walk in, movin’ right toward my chair at the head of the table.
“Alright, I was gonna wait and fill y’all in tomorrow, but this has become an urgent matter,” I start. “Athena came to me, lookin’ for help. Her abusive, narcissistic ex-boyfriend has been stalkin’ after her for months. She’d thought she was safe in the last place she was, but it turns out he found her. That was last weekend. Now, he’s found her here.
He sent a box here, addressed to me that had somethin’ in it for her and that represented Cami. Which means he has to be workin’ with someone who knows shit about me. And that’s what brings us here. Tech, take it away.”
“Right, so I tracked his phone. He’s definitely here in Texas. The last place I was able to track him was at a restaurant calledLa Hacienda. It’s just east of the Torres Cartel territory,” Tech tells the room.
I lean back in my chair, bringing my hand to my face and tap my chin.
“Well, then what the hell are we sittin’ around here for?” Shadow shouts, jumping out of his chair, sending it flyin’ back. “Ain’t they the same fucks who attacked the clubhouse, killin’ two of our brothers? Let’s go hunt their asses down!”
“Sit your ass down!” I roar out at him. He looks me dead in the eye, staring for seconds before grabbin’ his chair and sitting back down. “We don’t do anything without a fuckin’ plan. Goin’ in blind is how we lose more men.”
There’s a knock at the door.
