“Well, let’s go. I’m starvin’.” I stand from the table and nudge his shoulder.

“Alright, alright.” He gets up and we head for Minx’s house.

We get to the house and Tink is walking out the front door with Belle.

“Hey, guys!” She sets Belle down, who comes running full speed for me. I kneel, catching her in my arms as she barrels into me. Tink laughs, walking down the steps. “Looks like I’m not the only one happy to see you.”

“Hey, Tink,” Clutch says to her.

“Hey, Clutch. Your girl is inside waiting for you.”

“I better get my ass in there then.” He laughs and walks inside. I stand back up with Belle in my hands and take a few steps until I’m right in front of Tink.

“Hi, Pixie.” I kiss her on her soft, plump lips.

“You have a little more pep in your step than usual.” She pauses and gasps. “Did you and . . . “

I can’t fight back the grin.

“That’s fucking hot.” She smiles a mile wide.

“Has your mom called you yet,” I ask.

Her face falls and I instantly regret asking. “No, not yet. Today is the last day the hospital will hold his body. Tomorrow, they’ll send him to a funeral home and I’ll have a week to decide what to do.”

“We don’t have to talk about that right now,” I tell her. “How about after breakfast, we go visit Wren and Sketch?”

“Did she have the baby?” she shouts.

I nod. “I woke up to a text from Sketch saying to come visit whenever.”

“Oh my God, yes! Wehaveto go!”

“Breakfast first, then we’ll go,” I tell her.

“Put Belle down so she can go potty, then we can go eat,” she sasses at me.

“Watch that tone,” I warn with a grin. I set Belle down and she sniffs around the yard, looking for a place to potty.

“I figured you two would be eating already.” Hollywood walks up behind us.

“H! You’re . . . “ Tink pauses, “glowing.” She laughs.

“What’s so funny?” He looks from her to me.

“She knows,” I tell him.

“Knows?” He mulls it over. His eyes widen when it clicks. “You told her?”

“No, I could just tell.” Tink smirks.

“You’re trouble.” Hollywood laughs and wraps his arms around her shoulders. “Let’s go eat.”

Belle lets out a single bark, runs up the stairs, and waits for us by the front door. Today is going to be a good day.
