Tink

We spend roughlytwo hours in the pet store because I couldn’t make up my mind on anything. We ended up walking out with way more than she’ll need, but I couldn’t help myself. I want her to have the best life a puppy can have. Belle slept for the first hour we were shopping. When she woke up, she still wanted me to carry her around.

Now, we’re back at the house unloading everything we bought. Belle is glued to my feet, only staying far enough away so I don’t trip over her. Once we have everything in the house, I grab a backpack to use for some of her things.

“What are you doin’ with that?” Diesel points at the backpack.

“I’m going to pack some of her things so she can go with us,” I tell him.

He chuckles and shakes his head.

“What? I’m not leaving her home by herself the first day she’s with us.”

“I expect nothin’ less, Pixie.”

Belle growls at Diesel and nips at his jeans.

“Feisty like her mama.” Diesel laughs, picking her up. She covers his face in kisses, making him laugh even more. I finish packing up what I think she’ll need.

“Alright, I think I have everything,” I announce. “The girls are going to be so excited to meet her.”

Locking up the house again, we leave for the clubhouse. Diesel hands Belle to me so he can drive. Belle curls up in my lap, making herself comfy. When we get to the clubhouse, I walk in carrying Belle.

“Surprise,” Minx and Marley yell at the same time. “Happy Birthday!”

There are happy birthday banners all over the main room, along with streamers and balloons.

“Oh my gosh!” I laugh. “Thank you. I can’t believe Bull let you do this.”

Minx shrugs. “He didn’t really have a choice.”

“What or who is this?” Marley walks closer to me.

“This,” I hold the puppy up a little. “is Belle. Hollywood and Diesel surprised me with her for my birthday.”

“Aww, how sweet! She’s a doll,” Marley gushes over her. “Can I hold her?”

“Sure!” I hand Belle to Marley. I glance around for Hollywood but don’t find him. “Have either of y’all seen Hollywood?”

“He was just outside,” Minx tells me.

“I’m gonna go put the backpack in your room,” Diesel tells me. He kisses my forehead and walks away. As I’m about to go looking for Hollywood, he walks in. His eyes finding mine instantly. He takes a couple steps toward me before getting stopped by Carmine.

“That bitch will never learn,” I mutter. Minx and Marley turn to see what I’m talking about.

“She’s the most annoying bunny that’s ever been here,” Minx says.

I’m about to respond when the front door blows open and Kara storms in.

“Kara, what the hell are you doin’ here?” Kicks shouts.

“I’m looking for the asshole who killed my boyfriend.” She’s strung out. Her pupils are huge and her hands are shaking uncontrollably.

“He died from an overdose,” I tell her.

“No, he didn’t. It’s his fault he’s dead.” I turn to see who she’s pointing at— Hollywood. My blood boils.
