“Yeah. Her car is still at the hospital and her phone was on the ground, smashed,” he tells me. “I’m gonna ask Tech if he will hack the hospital security cameras to see if he can find out what happened.”
“Good idea. I hit him up a little bit ago to have him trace her phone. Obviously, that’s not needed anymore.” There’s a shift in my tone I can only hope Diesel didn’t pick up on.
“Hollywood, we’re gonna find her,” he assures me. “even if it’s the last thing I do.”
We hang up after that so he can call Tech. Kicks shows up shortly after.
“What’s goin’ on, my man?” He drops onto the couch.
“D found her phone and car still at the hospital. No sign of Tink.”
“Do you think someone took her?”
“I don’t know who it would have been. We haven’t had any active threats against the MC,” I say.
“What about the people Kara and Andy got the drugs from?”
“That could be it. Has Kara told you anything new?”
“No, she’s bein’ fuckin’ stubborn.” Kicks sighs. “All she says is they owe whoever it is a bunch of money.”
I shake my head. “Whatever they got themselves into, they’re gonna have a hell of a time gettin’ out.”
“I’d say I’m surprised by Kara’s recent antics, but I’ve seen this comin’ for a while now,” Kicks admits. “Though, I never expected her to drag someone down with her.”
“We can get her help, Kicks.”
“Honestly, I’m tired of helpin’ her. This isn’t somethin’ new,” he says. “She’ll get help and seem like she’s doin’ well. Then one small hiccup and she’s back at it. Anyway, enough about Kara. You doin’ alright?”
“Just when I think things are finally good again, something bad happens. It’s like I’m not meant to be happy.”
“Stop that. Don’t fuckin’ think like that, because it isn’t true,” he tells me. “You deserve happiness as much as anyone. We will get her back and the three of you will get your happily ever after.”
