After what feels like hours, we all get up. Without saying anything to anyone, Rivet and I head to the house into my room. I feel absolutely numb. “Let’s leave after graduation,” I suggest. “It’s only a month away. We can leave, and never look back.”
She looks at me with what looks like excitement shining in her eyes. “You think Pops will let us?” she asks curiously.
“He’s not going to have a choice. We’ll be eighteen. But honestly, I think he’ll understand. We just need to pick a place we know he would approve of,” I tell her. Hawk was the youngest of my three brothers. Just two years older than me, he and I were the closest.
We set out making plans. In roughly a month, we’ll graduate and then make our big move. We’ll go somewhere far enough to be away from the grasp of the Savage Menaces, but someplace that has allies who will make sure we’re safe from any Menace rivals. We’ll have a fresh start, and we’ll even be able to date without any brothers, blood or club, chasing the guys away.
I can’t help but feel a little guilty for wanting to move away. With Shadow in jail for another six or so years, Pops will only have Jager. I told Rivet he would understand. I just hope he truly does. I can’t stay here after what happened to Hawk.
The next day, we head to the clubhouse for some breakfast. Rascal texted us to tell us a couple of the cut bunnies decided to make everyone breakfast. This would be the perfect time to announce our plans since most everyone is here.
“Rivet and I are moving to Tuscan, Arizona after graduation,” I announce.
