“Yeah, actually.” Kellan shrugs, holding his hands up.

My heart feels all fluttery that he’s spoken to his professor about me. “I’m your muse, huh?”

“You already knew that.”

A smirk teases my lips. “But I didn’t know everyone else knew, too.”

Kellan slides his hand over his jaw, looking me up and down. “Let’s get outta here. I know she said we could carry on, but I’d rather we carried on somewhere else.”

I grin and look around us, readjusting my glasses. “Oh, I dunno. This could be totally hot.” Just when I’m about to suggest we finish what we started, my phone vibrates a few times in my pocket. And then again. And again.

“Maybe next time.” He hooks an arm around my shoulder, but I can tell his mood is swiftly deflating. He brushes his lips over my temple. “You’d better check in with Lux and Raven. You don’t know what state Milo left the suite in. They could be worried.”

I breathe out. “Right.” No way would the asshole have taken the time to pick up the bits of burned matches off the floor. Hell, maybe the suite door was standing wide open when they returned.

As Kellan and I walk down the steps of the art building, another text notification sounds, and I thumb my phone open to have a look at everything, my eyes drifting over the entire thread of messages.Shit.I should have texted them to warn them before they got back. That was totally stupid of me. I grit my teeth, regret sinking deep.

Lux:Hey, are you both okay?

Lux:I’m at the suite. It’s open.

Raven:Oh, shit. WTH?

Lux:I’ve no idea what’s going on.

Raven:Is Hawk with you?

Lux:No. He’s at practice.

Lux:Star’s door’s open, too.

Lux:And there are freaking burnt matches all over the floor in the living area.

Lux:I’m trying hard not to, but I’m freaking.

Raven:Mad and I are on the way.

Raven:Go wait downstairs on the couches.

Raven:What class should Star be in?

Lux:Leaving to go down now.

Lux:Art, I think.

Raven:So, hopefully with Kellan.

I glance at Kellan, my brows pulling together hard, a frown edging its way onto my lips. “I was stupid. I should have said something.”

“They’re upset?”

I exhale hard and rub a hand over my cheek. “Upset. Worried. I don’t blame them. It’s not like Milo would have shut the goddamn door or picked up after himself. There are probably burns in our carpet and bits of matchsticks left all over. He went through an entire matchbook.”

“Milo.” Kellan’s teeth positively grind together as he stiffens, drawing me closer to his side. “Fuckin’ Milo.” He shakes his head as I lean into him while I quickly tap out a few messages to the girls.

Me:Yes. I’m with Kellan. We’re coming.

Me:I will tell you everything when we get there.
