“Wire, my man. How ya doing?” Conjurer from the Raven Kings MC greets me.
“Conjurer, how are things in Nola?”
The Raven Kings is a special kind of MC. Most of their members have some sort of gift. Being in Nola, they have links to Voodoo and the deep magic that swirls around that city, that whole state.
“Things are good, my friend. But this is not the reason I’m calling. Brother, I feel your pain and thoughts. Don’t do it.”
I’m quiet while I gather my thoughts.
“Brother, trust me that good things are coming. Have faith. I suggest a visit to the Devils Reapers MC. I recommend talking to Tinhead. He can help.”
“Thanks for the advice. Maybe I will head that way. Been a while since I’ve seen Bear and Axe.”
“Good idea. Just know I’m at the end of the phone, brother, and I’m looking over you.”
“Thanks, brother.”
The call ends, and a Raven flies over me, calling as it flies off into the sky.
Yeah, they are a freaky but a good MC to be friends with.
Deciding it actually is a good idea, I head back to my bike and take off in their direction.
The Devils Reapers are based in a town called Dyersburg in Texas, so it doesn’t take me long to reach their clubhouse, but I take my time and have a mini road trip. Stopping at small Texan towns on the way and I finally reach their clubhouse three weeks later.
CHAPTERFOUR
Wire
Pulling up to the clubhouse gate, I’m greeted by a prospect. The kid only looks to be twenty years old, if that, and a hundred pounds wet through.
“Can I help ya?” he asks, sticking his chest out, trying to make himself bigger than he is, making me chuckle.
“Tell Axe that Wire is here to see him,” I tell him.
He goes back to his little guard shack, and I can see him on this phone. It doesn’t take long, and the gates start to open. Giving the prospect a chin lift, I pull through and park near the clubhouse. Axe and Bear are first out to greet me.
“Wire, to what do we owe the pleasure?” Axe says, giving me a one-armed hug.
Bear, the giant brute of a man, slaps me on the back so hard I think he dislodges my ribcage.
“Wire, welcome.”
“Thanks, I’ve gone Nomad. Needed to get out and sort my head out. Figured a visit was in order. Hope you don’t mind.”
“Not at all, Wire. You Havoc boys are always welcome,” Axe says.
“Hey, Wire, Conjurer called to say if you visited to make sure we chatted,” Tinhead says as he joins us.
“That dude freaks me out,” Bear shivers
“Yeah, it can be creepy when he tells you shit he knows or has seen, but he only does it for the greater good.”
“Still freaky,” he complains, causing us to laugh.
“The girls are inside, come get a drink, and we can sort a room out for you. Bet you want to wash the road off,” Flex says.
Inside the clubhouse, I’m nearly knocked off my feet by a couple of kids.
