“Are you kidding?”
I brushed my fingers over my scruffy cheek. “Not at all.”
“Lockhart Weston, you’re speaking my love language.”
“So, that’s a yes?”
She smiled her hardest. “That’s a hell yes.”
I stroked the back of her hand. “I’ll plan it in a few weeks. I need to get through Toro’s opening, and then I can focus on our new ventures.”
Her lips slid closed, no longer showing any teeth, but the grin remained. “We’re going to skip right over that topic. ’Kay?”
“Yes, please.” I chuckled.
“As for the traveling, just give me a week’s notice so I can get all my filming and editing done ahead of time.” Her teeth went to her lip in a playful way. “It feels so good to be able to say that to you.”
“I—” The light from my phone caught my attention, and a notification from Troy was on the screen.

“The answer is waiting in my inbox,” I told her. “I just heard from Troy.”
Her eyes widened, and she rocked in her seat. “What is it? What did the owner say? Is it yours? Tell me!”
Her enthusiasm made me laugh, and I opened my inbox, scanning the first few sentences of the email, and slowly set my phone down.
“You’re killing me, Lockhart. Straight-up killing me.”
I shook my head, stretching my tongue up over my top lip. “Walker is going to fucking murder us.”
She stilled. “Murder who?”
“Beck and me.”
“Why?”
“Because we found out our competition had upped their offer, so we did the same to ours. And we might not have consulted him and made that decision on our own.”
“And?” She shook her head. “So?”
“It was more than Walker wanted to spend.”
“I don’t get it.” She flattened her hands on the table. “What are you telling me?”
“I’m telling you …” All the built-up energy left my chest, and the corners of my lips tugged high as I said, “You’re looking at the new owner of Horned.”
“Oh my God!” She rose from her chair and came over to my side of the table, falling into my lap, wrapping her arms around me. With our lips aligned, she whispered, “I’m so happy for you.”
“Thank you, baby.”
“Now kiss me.”
Her grin told me there was more, so I said, “Just kiss you?”
She stared into my deep green eyes. “And tell me you love me.”
