He was right. I was biased. But not because he’d fed me for free. I thought it had more to do with how much I’d begun to adore him.

Chapter Twenty-One

Stone

After dinner, I cleaned up the kitchen while Jessa completed her classwork. Music played softly as we finished up the day’s work. Just as I started the dishwasher, she closed her laptop. “Done.”

I’d never heard such a beautiful word in my life. “Me too.”

Moving toward her, she smiled as I turned the barstool she was sitting on around until she was facing me. Her hands moved over my cheeks as she gazed into my eyes. “I think I should kiss the cook for the fine meal he made and the ultra-romantic setting he put together. What do you think?”

“I think that’s the best idea I’ve ever heard in my entire life.” It felt as if I’d been waiting an eternity for this moment.

She pulled me to her, and our lips barely grazed, sending zaps of electricity shooting throughout my entire body. I couldn’t help myself from doing what I did next, scooping her up in my arms as the kiss took on a life of its own.

Her thumb moved back and forth along my jawline while she ran the other hand around my neck, hanging on to me. Carrying her to the sofa in the adjoining room, I sat down, putting her on my lap. The weight of her body on mine took me under.

Before I knew it, she was on her back, and I was all over her, both of us touching and exploring everything we could with our clothes still on. It may have seemed too fast, but it wasn’t like I could stop it.

I held her tightly to me then rolled off the sofa, landing on my back on the carpeted floor. Rolling over, Jessa was underneath me again. Our mouths wouldn’t part, and the kiss wouldn’t end. My hands had a mind of their own as they began pulling her clothes away from her body, eager to touch flesh instead of material.

Her hands worked hard, too, unbuttoning my shirt then pulling it off. Moaning, she ran her hands over my back, arching so I could rid her of her pants. While I was at it, I removed mine too. And somehow, our lips still hadn’t parted.

The way my skin felt as it moved against hers wasn’t human in any way. The softest silk couldn’t compare to hers. I wanted to feel every last part of her. Ihadto feel her. Ineededto feel her more than I’d ever needed anything. I would’ve given up the air in my lungs just to get to touch every last inch of her.

She moved one hand, wrapping it around my cock. The sound I let out was more animal than human, and the kiss went to an even deeper place. Stroking me with perfect rhythm, she brought my erection to the fullest it had ever been. And then, she spread her legs, guiding me to where she wanted me.

Knees bent, she arched to meet me, urging me inside as our kiss became much softer, much sweeter. I slid my hands over her shoulders as I entered her, feeling the tightness, the slickness, and the tenderness of her womanhood.

I could live right here, inside of her, forever.

We moved together like we’d done this a thousand times before, knowing what the other was going to do before they even did it. I pulled my lips away from hers so I could look into her eyes. What I found hit me right in the heart. “I’ve never seen love in anyone’s eyes before yours.”

She gulped as one tear slipped down her cheek. “Does that scare you?”

“Not even a little.” I kissed the tip of her nose as our bodies swayed to music only we could hear. I pulled back, looking into her eyes again. “What do you see in mine?”

Closing her eyes, she smiled before opening them again. “It’s still there. I wasn’t sure whether what I was seeing was real or not. But it’s still there. You sort of have a crush on me, don’t you?” she joked.

“I might have a small one, yeah.” I ran my fingers along her arm then lifted it, kissing a line down along it. “I just want you to know that I wasn’t even thinking that this was how our night would end.”

“You weren’t trying to seduce me with your delicious food, the romantic twinkling lights, and the wine?” Her nails lightly raked across my back.

“Not at all.” I’d wanted us to have a romantic night, but sex hadn't been anywhere on my radar. “But if that’s what it takes to get to this, then I’ll do it every damn night.”

“You don’t think you’ll get tired of me?”

Shaking my head, I leaned in, kissing her neck and loving the little squeal that escaped her lips. “Tired of hearing that sexy sound? No way.”

Smoothing my hands down her arms, I pulled them up over her head, pinning them to the floor as I rose above her. Her eyes were on my torso, and she licked her lips. “Your body looks like it’s been sculpted by one of the masters.”

I looked at her firm, plump tits. “Looks like God gave you two luscious scoops, baby.”

Her laughter peeled through the air, and I rolled over, pulling her with me so she could take the top spot. With her hands checking out every inch of my chest, she rocked her body over mine. “I needed this. You have no idea how badly I’ve needed this.”

“I have some idea.” Running my hands up and down her arms, I could see total relaxation in her face for the first time.

She blushed a little then smacked my chest lightly. “I mean that I had a trying day at the hospital. There was this baby born last week. She was born with an addiction to meth. The state took away the mother’s rights after the test came back positive. We’ve been taking complete care of this little girl since she was only a few hours old.”
