My nails bit into the flesh on his arms as I held tightly to his biceps to keep from being moved up the bed by his powerful thrusts. “Yes! Oh, God, yes!” The wave began to build up, welling from deep inside of me.
“Give it to me!” he barked as he pounded me. “I want it all.”
“Ahhhh,” I screamed as I came undone.
My canal pulsed around his cock, urging him to release as well. He did so with an enormous growl that shook us both. Gasping for air, he fell on top of me, his cock throbbing inside of me as he gave me all he had to give.
Feeling completely satisfied, I ran my hands over his back as we both fell asleep, staying connected. Being connected to him made me feel whole in a way I couldn’t feel without him.
So, this is what people mean when they call their spouse their better half.
I couldn’t have wished for a better man to share my life with. I had to wonder though, that if this came true for me, then maybe something I’d actually wished for could come true too.
My sixth-birthday wish was the only I really remembered. A pony was all I’d wished for that year. Can one become too grown up to own a pony?
Epilogue
Baldwyn
3 months later…
The grand opening of Whispers Resort and Spa had come. Everyone had dressed to the nines and we were all excited. I held up my glass of champagne to make a toast. “To everyone who helped my brothers and I see our dream come to fruition.”
“Cheers!” everyone called out as we all clanked our glasses together.
The place was gorgeous, and I was sure it would be a great success.
Sloan was sure of it too. “You’re all going to do great, Baldwyn. I’m so proud of you.”
She went to kiss my cheek, but I turned my face and got a nice one right on the lips. “You’re a part of this too, you know. Now you’re not only a successful structural engineer, you’re part-owner of this place.”
“Look at me.” She laughed as she put her glass of champagne down on a table, having not taken even a sip of it. “From pauper to part-owner of a fancy resort and spa. Who would’ve ever thought this would happen to a girl like me?”
All joking aside, she’d been destined for greatness all along. “You don’t like the Armand de Brignac?” At nearly ten thousand bucks a bottle, I would think everyone would enjoy the champagne. “It’s pink, you’re favorite color.”
“I’m sure it’s delicious,” she said with a smile. “I’m not thirsty right now.”
“K, babe.” I wrapped my arm around her waist then kissed the side of her head. “You seem tired. We don’t have to stay late.”
“No, I’m fine. We can stay as long as you’d like. This is a big day for you and your family. I don’t want to spoil it for any of you.” She spotted her assistant and friend, Delia, coming in and excused herself. “I’m going to say hi to Delia. Go hobnob.”
Something wasn’t right about Sloan. She was acting very weird. I’d heard her on the phone before we’d left the house. When she’d seen, she ended the call without even saying goodbye. And when I’d asked her who it was, she said nobody.
Her father, Richard, came in from the back way. I met him, handing him her glass of champagne since she hadn’t touched it. “Thanks for coming, Richard.”
He took a drink and raised his brows. “This is amazing.”
“It ought to be.” I hadn’t thanked him yet. “By the way, thanks for giving me the great advice about giving Sloan a pony for a wedding present. She loves it. I swear she’d keep it in our bedroom if I hadn’t had an adorable barn built for it to live in.”
“She told me about it.” He laughed. “She said that she knew wishes could come true now since she’d never told anyone about her childhood birthday wish. I guess she didn’t recall telling me and her mother about what she was going to wish for the day before she turned six.”
“Ha!” I had no idea she thought that way about the present. “I never mentioned to her that you’d given me the idea either. What a hoot that woman is, believing wishes can come true. She’s adorable.”
“Well, I hope she’s not completely wrong about that. I’ve been wishing for something for you both since your wedding day. I won’t say what it is, or it might not come true.” He held up his glass. “To wishes coming true.”
I touched my glass to his, unsure what he was talking about, but when someone is talking about wishes coming true, it just seems like something I should agree with. “To wishes coming true. Cheers.”
“Cheers,” he echoed.
