"It was one little stumble," Evie reminds us. "I didn't fall. Just wobbled a bit. The belly throws me off balance."
Luke and I grin as he sets her on her feet in the lobby. She's not wrong, but still she can be a little clumsy. Murphy implemented the no-stairs rule after that close call.
Evie had no idea that sometimes pregnancy can change your optical prescription… Yeah, now we know. We've learned all sorts of things in these last few months.
"Come on, sweetheart," I coo, trying to distract her. "If you eat all your fruits and veggies, I'll sneak you an extra dessert."
Evie beams. "I know you're placating me so hard right now." She shrugs, laughing. "I don't even care. I'm so thankful that I can eat again that I accept your terms with no counter-offer."
Luke laughs, shaking his head, and we followour wifeas she waddles off toward the buffet.

A Week Past Evie’s Due Date
Our little omega is all about not fitting the standard for her designation. The nurse blinks repeatedly when Evie begs to be allowed out of the birthing nest to walk around.
"Most omegas prefer to stay," the nurse states, fumbling over her words. "Well, in thenest."
Evie sighs. "Please? I think I need to walk a bit."
Murphy looks so torn. He gives Evie everything she wants, unlessit goes against her health or safety.
He's a big ball of nerves. The nurse continues eyeing him uncomfortably.
Luke and I actually have a bet going. We both agree he'll have security called on him at least once before the baby arrives. He doesn't even have to do anything to scare people. The deep, gravelly tone of his voice is enough to frighten most everyone, and he's putting out murdery vibes more than usual.
"I'll see what I can do," the nurse finally concedes.
"You're doing great," Luke says, rubbing our wife's lower back as she paces the hospital corridor.
"Okay," Evie hisses. She grips his hand for dear life as she shuffles back and forth. Luke grimaces as she claws his forearm. "Time to lean against the wall."
The rolling wave of her contraction hits all of us at once. I hiss out a breath, grinding my teeth. It's like getting kicked in the nutseverydamn time.
Luke chuckles, shaking his head at Murphy who's cupping his cock and strangely dancing around like he's a ballerina.
"I'm actually okay with having a weaker bond," Luke says, laughing. "I'm the only one who isn't useless every time a contraction hits."
"I bloody hate you," I hiss as my balls ache and my lower back throbs.
"For the love of God," Connor groans, rubbing at his lumbar region.
"Yeah," Evie agrees. "They're definitely getting stronger."
Our wife is hardcore. She starts shimmying along with Luke while the three of us are still grumbling and griping and trying to catch our breath.
"That never gets old," a nurse I don't recognize says to another at the desk. "What I wouldn't give to see my husband have to go through that."
"Come along," I say, clapping my mates on the back. "Our woman is giving us a bad name."
"My balls might never recover," Tom groans.
The women at the desk have a good laugh at our expense as we hobble off.
"It's always the big guys who go down," the nurse says, patting Murphy's shoulder. "Don't feel bad. At least you didn't actually hit the ground. We've had dads lose a tooth or end up with a broken nose."
