"Shut the damn door," Archie growls.

Murphy slams it closed and stares with undisguised hunger. His chest heaves, and he clears his throat several times. Archie finally puts his cock away, but Evie and I are mostly naked.

"The good news is our suite is filled with boxes. All of which I'm sure are our courting gifts for you," Murphy says, prowling closer.

Evie gives him a shy little wave. The big bastard gives a shy little wave back, and I bark a laugh.

"What's the bad news?" Archie inquires.

"Viktor needs some time off for Anastasia's heat. They've reached some kind of understanding, but it's going to leave us short-handed because we'll be off, too," Murphy tells us.

"I don't care if I'm not an alpha," I say. "I'm not missing Evie's heat."

"No," Archie says, shaking his head. "We wouldn't ask you to. We'll figure it out."

"Thank you," Evie whispers, giving Archie a soft smile.

"Mine tonight," Murphy says, brushing his fingers over Evie's pink cheek. "If that's all right with you?"

"A date?" she asks, smiling up at him.

"A date," Murphy agrees.

"I'd like that very much," she whispers, stretching up to squeeze his hand. He's still caressing her face. He leans, over giving her a soft kiss.

Evie trembles, and my cock jumps inside her. We both groan, and TomfuckingMurphy blushes. He shakes his head and spins around, walking out to the sound of mine and Archie's laughter.

Chapter Nineteen

Everly

"Everly," Connor says later that evening. He shoots me a bright smile, extending his arm for me to come inside.

"I'm going to get some laundry done," Luke says, kissing my temple. "Then I'll handle moving our stuff while you're with Murphy."

"Okay, thanks," I say as he pulls my mouth to his. We share a brief kiss, and my cheeks burn. Luke smacks my ass and heads off back the way we came.

"Come on in," Connor says. "We've got a few things for you."

"You really didn't have to do that," I tell him as his hand meets my lower back. He guides me into the living room.

"Indeed we did," Connor says. "It's an important part of the courting process. You look positively beautiful. Would it be too forward to ask that I could have a go before you head out with Tom?"

My jaw falls, and I actually miss a step. Um, what?

Connor catches me with his hands on my hips.

"For the love of God, I'm hopeless," he says, shaking his head. "I'd like an opportunity to take you on a quick date."

"Oh, yeah," I say with a laugh. "I'd like that."

"You're sure I haven't scared you off?" His dark olive complexion helps hide some of it, but he’s definitely blushing.

"No." I snort a laugh. "Usually I'm the one saying ridiculous things, or tripping into something, or generally being embarrassing. I'm grateful you took the pressure off me."

"Glad I could help," he says, brushing his black hair away from his face. "I took the liberty of picking a few things out for you. I know it's customary to ask prior to purchasing gifts." He shrugs. "I was hopeful you'd be open to all three of us."

"Of course," I agree.
