Natalia’s mouth drops. “Holy shit. Who else has gone into the shop?”
I twist my back to stretch my back out a little. “I don’t know. There’s a lot of guys that go in there.”
“Have any of them asked you any questions about yourself?”
“You’re scaring me,” I whisper. My blood runs cold in my body and I start to sweat a little. “Why are you asking me these questions?”
She pulls out her phone and starts tapping on the screen. It isn’t long before she shows me a series of photos of men. Of course, these are all men I have observed in the tattoo parlor.
“They look familiar. What are you trying to say?”
“Your tattoo parlor was one of my dad’s fronts. We need to call Chase and Dale right now. Who’s on your guard right now?”
Tears stream down my cheeks and I would like to blame it on pregnancy, but I don’t know if it is just pregnancy that has me feeling this way. With everything that has happened lately, my head is beginning to spin.
“I was attacked at my place with Brielle. Was that your dad’s club?”
“My dad’s club is The Spiders MC. The Spiders run a lot of things and have control over many different organizations. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had something to do with it. It seems like something he would do.”
I nod my head because I don’t know what else to do. This is too much for me.
“Colm left to go with the other guys. They have a prospect on me. He was across the street watching me,” I answer her.
Natalia chugs the rest of her latte and stands up out of her chair. “We need to go. Things are about to pop off and it is only a matter of time before my dad’s club attacks you.”
I remember what they said when Dale got shot. The man that stood in front of me had asked if Brielle and I were twins. Was he asking that because he wanted to make sure I am who he thought I was or was he after Brielle?
In this moment, I realize one thing. Everything in my life is about to change again and I just hope I’m on the right side.
Chapter Twenty-One
Dale
This has been the longest week of my life. I have given Cassie space to realize I’m not the total asshole she thinks I am and all I can do is think about her.
I’m thinking about how she’s pregnant with my babies and I’m at the clubhouse working on a plan to take down Nat’s father’s club. We’ve been working very hard on how we’re going to do it and it is only a matter of time before we strike.
The brothers are taking turns with Cassie at the safe house and I’m pissed as fuck I don’t get a turn to make sure my woman is safe. Do these assholes really think I wouldn’t make sure my girl was safe?
She’s about to be the mother of my babies. Of course, her safety is the most important to me.
“Jesus, fuck,” I mutter to no one but myself.
“Brother, you wanna do a run?” Chase asks from behind me.
He doesn’t even have to ask me. Of course, I’m ready to go. I grab my cut from behind me and I’m ready to roll out in seconds.
Chase drops a couple of bags on the ground in front of him and he smirks at the bags. “This is truly my masterpiece. Don’t lose my bags,” he tells me and flips me the finger.
I flip him the finger back and lean over to look in the bags. He pushes me away. “Don’t look in the bags until we get there. This is a protection detail but it is something more than that.”
“What the fuck did you do?” I question.
He pushes my shoulder so I fall a little over on my side. “This is really my best work. I got the name of the next supplier for the other club and then called and asked if they wanted a protection run for them. Of course, they want the help. I greased the palms of our favorite coppers and now we’re on our way.”
Brielle’s head pokes in through the door. She narrows her eyes at me before looking back at her boyfriend. “I just wanted to give you a kiss before you left.”
Brielle is everything Cassie is not. This is in a good way and a bad way. I like that Cassie knows the rules of being my girl. I like that she knows when it is time for me to leave, it is time for me to leave.
