I nod my head and smile at her. I don’t need this woman thinking I’m crazy that I’m seeing a flashing light from someone obviously taking my picture.

“I’m fine, thank you.”

The woman looks over her shoulder to look at where the flash has been coming from and shrugs. I watch as she helps another person.

I knew coming here was a bad idea. I fucking knew it.

Chapter Two

Milo

My phone is buzzing on the nightstand luring me to answer the phone. I have gotten a total of five hours of sleep the past two days because I have been so concerned about Octavious and Varya.

All of us were concerned something worse would happen to them both in the hospital without the proper protection needed to keep themselves clear. After all of that shit that went down with Varya’s family, it was wise to have someone posted at the door at all times.

The past couple of days while Octavious was busy, I have been the one who has been securing all of our goods to make sure the greedy Baros Fmily doesn’t get their hands on our shit.

Groaning, I grab my phone to see a picture waiting for me to download. Confused, I open it anyway. It wouldn’t have been the first time someone sent me porn.

When I see the beautiful face of the woman I haven’t seen in seven years, I about drop the phone on the bed out of sheer bewilderment.

“What the fuck?” I shout into the middle of nowhere. I look at the number who sent me the message to ask where they saw her at.

Imagine my surprise that it is one of the men on the crew, Bill. What the hell is Bill doing on the same plane as Isidora?

I quickly dial the number and wait for Bill to answer. The phone goes straight to voicemail but chimes when a text message has gone through.

BILL: Dude she’s on the plane going back to Greece

ME: Is she with someone else?

That’s another thing, why the fuck is she back here?

After all of this time, what would it be like to see her again? To talk to her in person. To hug her. To kiss her. To touch everywhere on her body.

It would be nice. Presumptuous as we are not sure if she is actually coming here.

That fateful day I left her in the hospital to seek out the family who was behind trying to kill my girlfriend, sealed my fate. I knew the minute I left the hospital that we were done and there was no repairing what we had.

I left her for a couple of reasons. Reasons I’m not sure I understand myself. I think the ultimate reason is because I might have been the cause of the price tag on her head. Something I might have done could have killed the most beautiful woman in the world. I’m a sick son of a bitch for thinking I could have kept something as pure as she is safe.

Gingerly, I climb out of bed to get dressed. There is no way I could go back to sleep with Isidora on my brain. I haven’t been able to get her out of my head with the thoughts of her gorgeous body underneath me.

I’ve been following her career ever since she got done with college. Isidora had always been destined for great things and I’m glad she was able to accomplish them. The woman had always been smart up until the day she started seeing me. I’m the catalyst to her downfall.

I grab my phone before leaving to go back to the hospital to talk to Octavious. He’s been by Varya’s side this whole time and everyone is worried about him. None of us ever thought he would get wifed up like this much less to a Baros.

The Baros Crime Family has been a big pain in our asses ever since they tried to take over our new ski lodge. The ski lodge that we got fair and square because assholes can’t pay off their debts.

“Yo,” Octavious answers the phone with his voice laced with worry.

“Has she woke up yet?” I know it is a stupid question to ask, but I’m wanting the Don back. This is his family, not mine. He’s the one who should be out here managing everyone.

“For a little bit and then she went back to sleep. The doctors said the swelling in her brain has gone down and it could be any minute for her to wake up.”

“Are you taking care of yourself?” I’m out the door in seconds and hitting the elevator button to go down to the parking garage where my car is parked. One of the good parts about living in this building is the fact that no one asks me questions. I bet they all know who I am and what I do for Octavious and The Andino Crime Family, but I don’t flaunt it.

The truth is I’m a contracted hitman and am contracted out by different organizations in Greece to do their dirty work. This all started right after Isidora left. Each bastard I put down is another bastard gone. Soon it will just be The Andinos and Baros running the show until we wipe them out, too.
