“Look, brother, I don’t want anything happening to Isidora, either. We gotta find out where Jamar is and kill him,” Emilio replies.

Emilio is normally the quiet one who doesn’t say much. He’s as ruthless as the rest of us, though.

“Wait! I got a call coming in,” Miklos announces. “Hello?”

A voice appears on the other end of the line. “Are you looking for someone?”

“Who is this?”

“Let’s just say I’m a friend. I’ll give you the information where he is if you give me twenty-five large in cash. Unmarked bills.”

“How do we know this isn’t a setup?” Octavious asks the logical question.

“Because I’m the one who helped him escape.”

“Where are we doing the drop-off?” I ask.

“I will let you know in about an hour,” the voice hangs up.

Octavious does a sharp turn into the prison and yanks the truck into park.

We all pile out of the truck to follow behind him. Octavious is fiercely protective of his sister and he would do anything to keep her safe.

He slams on the intercom to get someone to answer him. The door is yanked open and a guard is standing there with his hands up.

“Who let Jamar out?”

“I don’t know! Octavious, I swear!”

Octavious pushes him aside and walks straight over to the guard’s room. He pulls the door open and points his gun at the man sitting behind the desk looking at all the cameras. The man instantly recognizes us and backs away from the desk.

“It’s all yours!”

Miklos sits down at the desk and starts to type something into the computer. He’s quick about it since we need to know exactly what happened and who let him out.

Isidora’s life is at stake here.

He pulls up the feed next to the segregation unit. After clicking a couple of other buttons, he finds the feed he’s looking for. Sure enough, you can see Jamar stabbing a guard in the neck with a shiv and then you see him stripping him out of his clothes. The next camera shows him barreling through the hallways until he gets to the front door and someone lets him out.

“Zoom into that camera,” I point to the one next to it.

The next camera shows the man’s face.

“Get that guard in here!” Octavious demands.

The guard comes running in afraid of the wrath from Octavious. “Yes?”

“Who’s this?” He points to the face.

“That’s our new guy. I think his name is David something. Let me get his personnel file.” The guard leans over one of the keyboards and pulls up the chart.

I’m reading the information and then the one thing that strikes my attention is the name on it. “You hired a Baros to work in a prison?” I spit.

“Alki sent his nephew to work here?” Octavious spits.

We all know who David Baros is. He’s ruthless and will cut someone across the throat for just cutting him off on the road.

“Is he here right now?” I throw out there.
