“If you fuck with my sister again, I’ll kill you. Do you get me?”

I nod. “Yeah, boss. I understand.”

He chuckles lightly. “She’s going to freak the fuck out when you tell her she’s coming home with you.”

“I’m well aware of that.”

Chapter Nine

Isidora

My phone rings off to the side of me effectively distracting me from Varya. I grab my phone to answer it and notice it is a call coming in from Greece.

I answer it wondering if it is Jamar wanting to chat or something which is highly unlikely.

“Hello?” I answer. “This is Dr. Andino.”

“Did you honestly think I wouldn’t find out who you are?”

“Excuse me? This is Dr. Andino,” I repeat.

“I know exactly who you are. You’re the sister to Octavious Andino.”

“Who’s speaking please?”

“I think you know who this is.”

The voice is male and I’m positive it is Jamar. I’m one hundred percent sure it is him who managed to get out of the custody to grab a phone to call me.

“Jamar, how did you get my number? How did you get a phone?”

“Fuck you for thinking you could make me remember everything and then tell you what happened to me. I don’t want to talk about what happened.”

“Jamar, I was just doing my job.”

“I don’t give a fuck that you think you can find out what happened to me to make me kill. I’m getting out and I’m going to find you. The only way I’m not going to find you is if your brother gets me out of prison and a plane to Japan.”

I think about what he’s asking and it goes against my professional ethics. “You know I can’t do that.”

He chuckles. “I was hoping you would say that. I’m on my way.” Jamar hangs up before I could say anything else.

“What just happened?” Varya asks with her sweet voice.

“Nothing,” I mutter.

She giggles. “Do you know who my father is?”

“Yes, Baros.”

“I would think you would know I have been around a time or two and know when a woman is in trouble. Are you going to tell your brother?”

I shrug. “There’s not much he can do. My client is never getting out of prison, so I don’t have anything to worry about.”

Even as I say it, I know I’m stupid. I grew up in the life and know what a couple of grand can buy you on the streets. I know he has the means to find me. What I don’t know is if he’s going to get Milo and Octavious involved.

“Isidora!” Octavious yells through the doorway.

“What the fuck?” I yelp after he scared me.
