Me: Ok

I felt accomplished knowing that Jersey was willing to hear me out. I was gonna make sure to make the best of it. I went to knock on my sister’s door to check and make sure that she didn’t need anything.

“You okay in here?” I walked into the room, and she was lying in bed, looking at TV.

“I’m fine,” she insisted.

“Look, if you nee—”

“I said I was fine!” she snapped. I left it alone because it was clear she didn’t want to be bothered. I backed out the room and got ready to go see Jersey. Hopefully, after I told him what I knew, he would reward me.

I pulled up to Jersey’s condo and parked in one of the visitor spots. Sauntering through the parking lot, I took the stairs to his unit. After a few seconds, the door flew open with my fine ass baby daddy on the opposite side.

“You gone come in or stand out there?” He snapped me out of my thoughts with his rudeness, but I wouldn’t lie and say that wasn’t one of the things I loved about him. I stepped inside and waited for him to join me.

“Talk.” He got straight to the point.

“Can we go in the back and talk?” I tried my hand at asking.

“Nah. You can talk right here or get the fuck out.” I could tell that he was irritated, so I wasn’t gonna push it. I took a seat on the couch while he opted to sit opposite of me. He motioned his hands as if to tell me to go ahead.

“I heard around that somebody robbed y’all. I think Kirby had something to do with it. He’s been moving real funny lately, and when I come around, he’ll rush to get off the phone,” I revealed.

“How long has he been moving funny?” he probed.

“I didn’t pay it any attention until recently. I went to his house when he came back from outta town. As I was leaving, a dude was leaving, and I heard him call him Honcho. He didn’t know I heard him though.”

“You know where this nigga stay?”

“Yeah. He has an apartment out in Riverdale. I’m assuming that’s where he stays when he’s in town.”

“Where he from?”

“Alabama. I’m not sure where exactly. He never talked about his family. I just know he has a brother,” I disclosed.

“Aight. I ’preciate it.” He got up like he was dismissing me.

“Wait. That’s it? You ’preciate it? That’s all you gotta say?”

“What did you expect? Oh, you wanted me to repay you with dick?” He looked at me with an amused look on his face, which pissed me off.

“I mean, yeah. You should be glad that I put you up on game about this nigga. I’m pretty sure your lil’ girlfriend ain’t bothering to help you.”

“That ain’t her fucking place, and you need to learn yours. You only told me this shit so that you could feel like I owed you some shit, not for my well-being. Everything that you just told me I already knew. What you failed to mention was his wife and baby mama back in Alabama and his three kids. I guess he forgot to reveal that lil’ bit of information to you.” I stood there shocked atwhat he had just divulged to me. Holding my head up high, I said my peace and left.

“Fuck you, Jersey. That ain’t got shit to do with me. I just hope you be prepared for whatever that nigga brings your way.” I slammed the door for dramatic effect. I didn’t have time to play with these niggas. They could kill each other for all I cared.

Jersey told me how the meetup with Shanna went, and I didn’t expect any less. She seemed like a thirsty, hating bitch from the start, and it showed. He assured me I didn’t have to worry about her, and I believed him. He told me all about this Honcho dude and how he thought it was best for me not to go to work while he had this shit going on. I tried to argue the fact that Asia was still going to work, and Houston supported that. He countered, saying he had nothing to do with what they had going on. I was his girl and his business. His brother was grown enough to handle his own shit. He told me he had a talk with Trinity’s boyfriend and assured me he would be taking care of his responsibilities, which included Trinity. Now my free time was reduced to scrolling social media and sleeping. I was bored outta my mind, but I wasn’t crazy enough to go against my man. I was on the phone with Asia when he ambled into the room and went straight to the bathroom. After a few minutes, he made his way to where I was seated on the bed and leaned down for a kiss.

“Okay, bye. I’ll talk to you later.” Asia glowered into the phone before hanging up. I knew she meant nothing by it, so I took no offense.

“What y’all in here gossiping about?” he asked, taking a seat beside me.
