Someone had to babysit their old home and their new one that was under construction.
Their focus was divided, and that made every single one of them twitchy.
Both residences needed to be watched because they were mid-construction on the massive estate they’d planned, and thankfully, as of yet, no one knew where she was.
Somehow, they all managed to get out of DC without the media alerting the whole world.
Elizabeth almost felt sorry for Ivan. Like her, he was limited with whom he could bring with them, all the while worried about everyone’s safety.
The whole thing put Ivan in a mood, and not a good one, either.
He had Gryphen with whom he’d double up with to watch her.
Michael was with them since he was back to work, on light duty because of his healing shoulder. They brought him solely because he was struggling in DC.
His ex, Riley, was making media waves, and trying to destroy lives.
It was shitty.
So he was with them. While not back one hundred percent, Michael was on duty for the next week until Ivan could find more Marines that fit the bill. As soon as he could lock down more assistance, Michael was leaving to head to Scotland.
To heal.
For now, they were running hard, and with all they had. InDamascus, with them, they had all four archangels with her.
Muriel.
Michael.
Raphael.
Uriel.
Because this move was so sudden, all they could hope for was the Russian spies, and anyone who was gunning for her, would be caught off guard.
Thank God that the cabin was a temporary spot.
They hoped.
If everything went their way, Wyler would agree to go for chemo, and they could head home.
There was no way they could comfortably pack all of them into that cabin.
Simply put, it wasn’t big enough for them, the kids, and all of security.
To find them some room, there were massive RVs heading to the Rez to sit in Timothy’s yard, so security wasn’t sleeping in tents behind the cabin.
They were redneck and Native—but not that redneck and Native.
Uriel, the Archangel, would be helping out wherever Ivan needed him. Muriel, their newest would fill in where needed too. She was not up to speed when it came to Ivan’s protocols, so she was backup—but that might change sooner rather than later.
Following her around was the big man, or as she lovingly called him, D. He was her partner in crime most of the time when she was busting Ivan’s ass.
Demeter had practically begged and offered Ivan his kidney if he’d let him go toDamascuswith them and for one reason.
An Archangel.
Ironically, it was entertaining to watch Ivan bust his balls back since he wasn’t aware that he was not being left behind because he couldn't be left to his own devices.
