Cam stands and tucks the hair on my face behind my ears. “Fucking perfect.” He kisses my nose and smiles down at me.
It’s then I know.
“Let’s get married before the season starts,” I blurt.
Cam freezes, unsure if I’m serious. “What?”
I’m going to give Cam whiplash. When he proposed, I told him I wanted to wait. His spring training starts this February, and soon after the season will start, and he will be back on the road. I didn’t think we could plan a wedding in time, but if his brother could do all this for his popstar fiancée, then so can I for my sexy baseball god.
“I said, let’s get married beforethisseason starts.” My voice is clear and confident this time. He already calls me “wife”, so why not make it official sooner rather than later?
“I thought you wanted to wait.”
“I did. But I don’t anymore.”
He runs his hand through his thick ringlet curls. “Help me out, Itty Bitty. I’m a big, dumb jock, and I need you to spell it out for me.”
I roll my eyes at him. Cam is far from dumb. The man graduated from college with double majors, and there is much more to him than being a baseball player. “Please don’t call yourself a dumb jock. You’re smart, and sexy, and talented. And there is no way Ican wait for another baseball season to pass for you to call me Mrs. Miller. Is that clear enough for you?”
“Hell yeah, it is.” Cam scoops me up and spins us around. We both laugh and kiss as he holds me up off the ground. “Are you sure? I’m happy to wait. I want you to have the wedding of your dreams.”
“I’m sure. I’m going to marry the man of my dreams, so I could get married in a potato sack, at a drive-through chapel in Las Vegas, and it would be perfect.”
“Yeah, no. That’s not gonna happen. For one, if not your mom, your brother would kill me. And two, I want to watch you walk down the aisle to me in a sexy-as-fuck white dress with buttons all the way down the back so I can rip them off your body right before I claim you as my wife forever.”
Cam kisses me hard and deep until a knock on the door separates us. Cam puts me on the ground as the banging begins again.
“It’s been long enough, you two. Emery needs to use the bathroom,” Mason shouts through the door, making me and Cam laugh.
We find Emery scolding Mason as we open the door. We apologize to a bouncy Emery and a pissed-off Mason. I can’t really tell. He kind of has a resting grump face.
“Took you long enough.” Emery smacks
Mason in the chest. “Oh please, it’s fine. But I really need to go.” She rushes past us, and Mason follows her into the bathroom, locking the door behind him.
“I’m pretty sure they might be in there a while,” I tease. I start down the hallway when Cam grabs my wrist and twirls me back around.
He looks so serious as he asks, “Talia, baby, are you sure about this?”
“I am so sure, Cam. I want to marry you in Arizona, in our spot on the bluff, and then have our reception at the restaurant where we had our first kiss. And then I want to spend our honeymoonon the back of your boat, with a can of whipped cream, while we do all sorts of dirty things to each other on the river.”
“Fuck, you got me all hard again.” Cam kisses me like we have all the time in the world, and in some ways, we do. “I love you. I promise I’m going to make you so fucking happy.”
“We are going to make each other happy.”
“You can fucking count on it, babe.”
Now, I just have to break the news to my mom and brother. Good thing I won’t be home for Christmas. It will give them time to cool off and help me plan after the New Year.

Ten Days Until Christmas
AsEliandIlet ourselves into Jace and Rylann’s home, we are assaulted by Christmas. It looks like Buddy the Elf broke into their house and decorated it from top to bottom. I can’t help but smile as my eyes take in every stocking, string of garland, Christmas tree, present, and twinkling light. Homemade paper snowflakes hang in the entryway. It’s fantastic.
Their house looks and smells exactly how I envisioned it to be during the holidays. Like my home was before.
