I winked at her before slipping out of her room. I heard her say it back just before I shut the door. And maybe it was strange but there was something about that sort of sisterly love that gave me a pep to my step as I crossed campus.

***Savannah***

Islipped into my room and let out a breath I hadn’t realized I’d been holding when I saw my space perfectly preserved with no traces of human feces. I really wasn’t sure if I’d ever get over that. I was pretty sure the smell was burned into my brain.

I grabbed my shower stuff and took the world’s fastest shower, my weak attempt at removing that smell from my memory, and then did my best to contain my self-judgment as I primped. I didn’t know why I felt like I needed to be pretty when I saw the guys… Well. That wasn’t entirely true. After being left behind after a night of the best sex of my life I felt like I needed all the help I could get.

I’d finally read Ryder’s message and it was…cryptic. He’d just asked to talk to me soon. Was that a good thing or bad thing? Did he want to apologize or tell me sleeping with me had been a mistake? In the end, I was pretty sure I should’ve just continued ignoring the message because it left me feeling sick with anticipation. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I just knew I wasn’t going in feeling frumpy.

I fought my way into my strongest shapewear and then pulled on a particularly low-cut sundress and my cowboy boots. I did my makeup and put my hair up in a messy bun with pieces hanging out, highlighting my collarbones and cleavage. I finished everything with my favorite perfume and bright red lipstick. I had my war attire on and all that was left to do was cross the hall and knock on their door.

I’d heard commotion in their room as I’d snuck back from the shower so I knew at least one of them was home. I forced my chin up and told myself I was a confident woman before leaving my room and knocking on their door.

The loud music coming from inside lowered slightly but with that I suddenly heard giggling. Lots and lots of giggling. When it was Cass who pulled the door open I nearly swallowed my tongue. She was in lingerie, her much slighter curves highlighted and on display, and she was absolutely stunning as she grinned at me. I could hear more of that giggling so much clearer with the door open. The entire cheer team had to be in there.

My mouth flapped open and closed like a dying fish but I couldn’t form words. I saw another half naked girl run by in the background and then the sound of flesh hitting flesh. Like a spanking. Like the one Ryder had given me.

“Um. Can I help you? The guys are a little…busy…” Cass giggled and then turned her head to talk to someone I couldn’t see. “Keep your hands to yourself for two seconds while I get rid of her!”

I didn’t need to see or hear more. I took a giant step back and told myself to keep my dignity and just walk away but the petty bitch in me wouldn’t allow it. It didn’t matter if she’d already seen the pain splashed all over my face. I forced a tight smile to my mouth and tilted my head as I stared at Cass. “Make sure Cole does that thing where he curls his fingers inside you. You won’t regret it.”

Her smirk slid right off her face but I didn’t wait around to see the fallout. I doubted she’d do anything to stop her fun with Cole.

I didn’t want to stay close and hear the giggling and whatever other sounds came from their room. I stomped down the stairs and rushed out into the early evening air. The campus was alive, the energy of a free Saturday wild and fun. People were lounging all over campus, playing their music loud and having a great time. Meanwhile I was stomping through like a lone storm cloud.

They were hooking up with cheerleaders. Blaire told them I was back in Texas for the weekend so they decided to have a freaking orgy? I didn’t get it. Had they been acting decent because I was so close? Was it all just an act to make sure the article went well at the end of the season? They had no clue I was trying to trash them, though. Or that Ihadplanned on trashing them anyway. Even with the new information about them banging around in my body I still wasn’t sure if I could trash them. I didn’t think they’d done what I’d come to campus thinking they’d done. That changed things.

It didn’t soothe my anger and hurt, though. That was still burning bright. I was fuming with every thought of what was happening in their suite. Was Ryder seriously spanking someone else? Was Cole curling his agile fingers inside someone else? Who’d caught Jax’s eye? Would he take them on his bike?

I was so lost in my self-destructive thinking that I didn’t notice someone approaching me so when I was grabbed from behind I screamed bloody murder and gave it my all to take the fucker’s head off. It took me a moment to realize I was hearing Jax’s voice.

“Jesus, woman. It’s just me. Calm down.” He spun me in his arms and tried to tug me into his chest. When I fought him like a wild cat he took a giant step back with his hands in the air. “Whatthe hell, Savannah? It’s me. Are you okay? What are you doing back here? Did something happen? Is that why you just tried to claw my eyes out?”

I jabbed my finger into his hard chest and growled up at him. “I tried to claw your eyes out because you’re having a fucking orgy because you thought I was gone!”

His expression would’ve been hilarious if I wasn’t so pissed off. He looked more confused than I’d ever seen him look and the expression made him seem so boyish. “I’m sorry, what? Did you say that I’m having an orgy? Right now?”

“Yes! I just saw and heard plenty in your room. The cheerleading team-”

“You do see me standing right here in front of you, right?” He looked over my shoulder and his eyes lit with humor. “Watch out, guys, she’s throwing elbows tonight.”

I twisted around and saw Cole and Ryder both walking towards us, their long strides slowly when they saw my expression. I looked back and forth between the three of them and crossed my arms. “Did you leave your orgy to chase me down?”

Cole let out a bark of laughter. “Orgy? What orgy?”

Ryder’s eyes were intense as he looked me over from the tips of my boots to the top of my updo. “You were supposed to be in Texas. Did Blaire lie? You ignored my text and calls.”

“Apprently we’re having a cheerleading orgy right now.” Jax was having a great time and I wanted to elbow him again. “I mean, like right now.”

I gave in to my childish anger and stomped on his toes. “I know what I heard and saw.”

Cole held up his hands as he drew closer. “If I promise I’m not currently involved in an orgy will you promise to not stomp on me?”

Ryder pushed him aside and grabbed the back of my neck. He ignored my struggling and studied me. “Talk, woman.”

A blush was crawling up my neck because they were making a very solid point. They were definitely in front of me and not balls deep in the cheer team. “You didn’t just leave your room?”

“No.” Ryder scowled. “We had a team meeting and the three of us were about to go grab dinner. We were just waiting on Jax to finish talking to Coach.”
