Cole frowned at me with his eyebrows quirked. “I have to see this outfit if it’s left you like this.”

Ryder suddenly exploded back into the room and slammed the door shut. “Nope.”

Cole swore and had to go see for himself. When he came back a few seconds later he was holding the beer to his throat. “Fuck. I just… One more look.”

I pressed forward and the three of us slowly opened the door and leaned out. Her door was open and she was on her hands and knees, ass towards us, as she picked up her floor. Her shorts were no match for her ass. They were basically see-through, enough so that I could make out the fucking Longhorns on her panties. And yeah, her lower lips were puffy and easy to make out.

“Perverts!” Blaire appeared in front of us, blocking our view, her face pinched in anger. She whispered, though, glancing back at Savannah like she was making sure Savannah hadn’t heard her. “If you’re going to look at her like that, at least tell her she’s pretty. Your friend and her cheerleader buddies were making fun of her earlier. They called her a cow. Tell Cass to knock it off.”

I leaned over, nearly knocked Cole over, just to see Savannah once more but she’d gone back on her haunches and the visual was much less erotic. Glancing back at Blaire, I frowned. “We’re not Cass’ keepers. And we’re not looking at her like anything, Blaire. What are you even doing here?”

Ryder cleared his throat and slipped past my little sister. “Be right back.”

I watched him go over to Savannah and squat beside her. I couldn’t hear what he said to her but it was easy to see the way she flushed and nodded. “What’s he doing?”

Savannah pointed to something on the floor and Ryder’s big body stiffened. I tried to see what he was looking at but Blaire blocked my view again.

“Don’t mess with her, Jax. She’s not one of your accessories to use when you go to some event. I like her.”

That finally got my attention. I glared at Blaire and let my frustration get the best of me. “And you’re such a great judge of character? Where’s the guy who did this, by the way?”

Her eyes filled with tears but she didn’t back down. “You sound just like Dad.”

Ryder was pushed into the hallway when Blaire stomped into Savannah’s room and slammed the door shut. He looked up at us and cleared his throat. Nodding back to the closed door, he shook his head. “They made paintings of their tits.”

I made a sound that was half gag and half growl. “What the fuck?”

He wiped his sweaty forehead and blinked. “Impressions. She said she painted her tits and pressed them to the paper… I need a drink, too. A big one.”

Cole groaned. “Any chance you could recreate it for us?”

***Savannah***

“You should hang this on your door. Just to make them suffer.” Blaire scowled towards my door like she could see her brother standing there. He’d really pissed her off somehow. “I can’t believe that big dummy believed we’d painted our tits and smashed them on the paper.”

I giggled, drunk off of chocolate and ice cream. “You should’ve seen his face.”

“They looked like the Three Stooges standing in their door, staring at you. I was waiting for their tongues to roll out and slap the floor.” She finished stacking the last of her craft supplies into her bag and rolled her eyes. “I have to go home. If I’m still out past eight these days I get so tired that I’m tempted to just lie down on the ground to sleep. This little dude is sapping every bit of my energy.”

It was the first time she’d really talked openly about the baby all day. “You’re having a boy?”

She nodded and her shoulders slumped. “I think you’re the first person who hasn’t taken one look at me and judged me. My father and brother certainly have.”

“What’s there to judge?”

“I don’t know who the father is. It was a party weekend and… Anyway, I don’t have any idea who he is or even where he is.”

I scooted over to her and hugged her. “Okay? There’s still no reason to judge you. I’m sure if you’d have planned everything out you would’ve gotten his number. You were just being young and having fun. I’m sure your brother has done the same thing a hundred times over.”

“You’re going to be my best friend, Vannah.”

“Same, Poppins.”

After she left I grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste and headed to the bathroom. There was no way I was going to chance running into Ryder in the shower later that night after the way he’d looked at me earlier. I’d nearly combusted and unless I was ready to throw my morals out the window and jump on the Ryder train, I needed to keep my space for a while.

Or not. I pushed into the bathroom and saw Ryder standing at the sink brushing his teeth. I took a deep breath and stood beside him without saying anything. I kept my eyes to myself as I prepped my toothbrush and slid it past my lips. It was a popular time of night and there were multiple people in the showers and someone standing on the other side of Ryder at the sinks. It was safe but I could feel his eyes on me and it didn’t exactly feel safe. I could feel my body heating and knew I was blushing.

Ryder finished brushing his teeth but he took his sweet time rinsing his mouth and gathering his things. He brushed against me as he walked by to leave and I nearly swallowed my tongue from the flare of heat that hit me.
