Sierra looks around, then kisses my forehead. “I really do like your house. Even though it’s gigantic.”
“You wanna design a new house and we’ll have it built?”
She shakes her head, laughing. “I’m not that fussy. This is amazing. Just needs a bit more color, maybe…?”
“Anything you want, baby.”
Then she kisses me. I’ve already learned that I love having her on top, so she can decide how to move, how intense shewants the kiss to be. And wow…this one’sintense. Her thighs squeeze my hips as she straddles me, and my hands move slowly down her back. I can’t resist snaking my palms under her skirt to caress the back of her thighs and her soft, round ass, barely covered by the thin cotton bikini panties.
Our mouths melt together, our tongues delving deep, exploring, bonding us together until I feel as well as hear her soft purr of satisfaction.
A single knock on the front door startles us. Sierra jerks her head up and I pull down her skirt, half sitting up as we both turn toward the front door. It opens in full view of where we’re sprawled on the sofa.
Kai walks in with a huge grin on his face, sees us, then freezes in place. His eyes go wide and he mutters “Oh, shit!” before backing up into Kane and stumbling back outside.
Thankfully, Sierra bursts into laughter. “That would be your brothers, right?”
“Well, two of them, yes. I’m so sorry – I promise I’ll train them to knock.”
As we stand and straighten our clothing, Sierra smiles up at me. “Hey, my dad didn’t, either. This is an adjustment period for everyone. It’s okay.”
There’s a small, tentative tap on the door, and she hurries to answer it, still laughing.
“I amsosorry.” Kai is holding up his hands in the classic gesture of surrender. “I didn’t even think. I’ll never do it again, promise.”
Sierra waves him inside, and Kane shuffles in sheepishly behind him.
“I’d like you to meet Kane and Kai,” I say. This is my gorgeous girlfriend Sierra Cu—” I stop myself just in time, squeezing my arm around her. “Sierra.”
Kane shakes her hand gently. “Nice to meet you. Sorry about the intrusion just now.”
Kai grips her hand warmly. “I’m Kai, and I’m a jackass. But I usually only make mistakes once.” Kane elbows him in the ribs. “Okay, three or four times, tops.”
Kane is examining her face closely. “Are you by chance related to Brigette Cushing?”
I look down to see Sierra shaking her head, then nodding with a sigh. “I’m her younger sister.” She pauses. “Wait – how would you know who she is?”
Kane looks embarrassed. “I had to drop off something at Mom’s, and there was a video open on her laptop. Something about ‘summer dress highlights’, maybe? Mom was taking color notes or whatever.”
“Are you in fashion as well?” Kai asks.
Sierra grins. “Oh, no. I believe in wearing whatever makes you happy and works with the weather.”
Kai laughs. “Exactly. Some people treat fashion as a cross between an artform and an extreme sport. It’s just clothes, right?”
It warms my heart to see my brothers laughing and joking around so easily with the incredible new woman in my life. But it’s my duty now to protect her. “Guys, could you please keep her last name to yourselves for now? Sierra is kind of distancing herself from her family a bit while she…you know…finds her feet and stuff.”
They nod. “Got it. You only have a first name,” Kane says solemnly. “Like Adele or Rihanna.”
“But if anyone asks…” Kai’s smile is stretched wide. “Is this a whole boyfriend-girlfriend situation?”
My mouth opens, but Sierra has already chimed in. “Yes.”
My brothers nod and smile. “Awesome,” mutters Kai.
Kane pulls a small blue hard drive from his back pocket. “I’m just going to run downstairs to do the backup, okay?”
“Go right ahead.”
