[Kensington] Yes.

[reporter] Is this your first awards show?

[Kensington] (laughs) It is. But I hope it won’t be my last.

[Beckett Miller] I’m sure it won’t.

[reporter] Can you tell us who you’re wearing?

[Kensington] Stella McCartney.

[Beckett Miller] Tom Ford.

[reporter] Well, thank you for stopping by. That was tonight’s presenter of the Best Album of the Year award and last year’s winner, Beckett Miller, as well as his friend DJ Kensington.

The three of us are silent a moment as we absorb the implication of what just occurred. I begin to laugh aloud. “Oh, God. Poor Austyn. Now she won’t be able to go anywhere with her father without the paparazzi thinking it’s a date.”

“Do you think Beckett realized that?” Jesse asks with a wide grin.

I shake my head. “This is why he has a team of lawyers. Bless them. After tonight, he is going to owe them triple.”

“Well, at least your daughter will provide a nice cover for you dating her father,” Ethan points out.

I gape at my brother just as Jesse’s hand connects with the back of his head. “You’re a sick, sick man, E.”

He lifts his beer in a toast. “I come by it naturally.”

I can’t suppress the giggles. “Too true.” The butts of our beer bottles connect. “You know I’m going to miss you both ridiculously.”

Jesse hooks an arm around me and the one holding his beer around Ethan. “Same goes. But if we didn’t think this was the best thing for you, we’d tell you. You need to go, Paigey.”

“And besides, we’ll always be here.” Ethan’s arm wraps around me, completing our circle.

“I need to. I just wish I could take you both with me.”

“You will. We’ll be in the same spot you’ve had Beckett all these years—your heart,” Ethan points out logically.

I squeeze them both before twisting my head and catching a last glimpse of Austyn and Beckett as they step into the theater, playing up to the crowd. I smile. Soon, I’ll be there to witness their hijinks in person.

And I can’t wait.

Moments later, I get a text from the man himself. It might be possible Carys kills me over this one, baby. If I go, you should know this is my official last will and testament.

She has every right. Even Jesse and E were commenting that A would make a great blind for us dating.

He sends me the vomiting emoji back.Sorry, no. And sorry your Grammy news is likely going to be filled with speculation about this.

I shrug. Beckett had warned me press about him was going to be ridiculously high tonight. Then it’s a good thing I’ll be on a plane first thing in the morning to meet the movers.I smirk as I press Send.

Then I face the television.

His head snaps up from the laissez-faire stance right to attention—back so straight it’s almost militant. I want to double over with laughter over the little stunt I just pulled when he shows Austyn his phone and my baby girl’s smile widens so huge the reporter asks, “What’s the hot news, Beckett? A new album? A new collab? Come on, let us know!”

Beckett merely grabs our daughter’s arm and starts stalking down the red carpet.

The little dots move, indicating he’s typing. Then they stop as he and Austyn are ambushed. They pose.

“So, when are you telling Beckett you’ll be waiting in Connecticut when they get back from LA?” Ethan asks me.
