Chapter Twenty
Rosalie
“You are the absolute best.” Charlotte grabbed her arm and smiled widely before hurrying over to the dessert table and serving a giant slice of chocolate cake onto her plate.
“I had to pull out all the stops for my girls.”
While Colin had put Addie to bed, she had arranged for the kitchens to set up an array of desserts. She wanted her friends to have some quality time with her and Colin so they could have the opportunity to talk more in-depth about whatever they wanted without young ears present.
Once they all sat down, Charlotte started the conversation. “We’ve already told you all about our girl, but I feel like we haven’t learned much about you. Are you ready for some rapid-fire questions?”
Colin leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs. “By all means, ask away.”
“Favorite color?” Charlotte asked.
“Red.”
“Like the color of Rosalie’s hair?”
She blushed at her best friend’s boldness. Her eyes trailed over to Colin, waiting for his response.
“Exactly that color.” He sent her a small smile, meant only for her, and it made her heart swell.
Her friends all squealed before Bridgette asked another question.
“Favorite food?”
“Steak.”
“Favorite thing in the world?” Sienna took a sip of her hot chocolate.
“Spending time with my daughter.”
Rosalie let out an audibleaww, along with all her friends.
Charlotte tapped her bottom lip. “Favorite sport to watch?”
“Handball—when I have time to watch it.”
“Favorite thing about being king?” Sienna asked.
“Having the ability and means to do good for my country.”
Bridgette took a bite of tiramisu before asking, “Favorite animal?”
“African pygmy hedgehog.”
Rosalie pressed her lips together to keep from laughing. “Seriously?”
He shrugged. “Yeah, is that so hard to believe?”
“Those hedgehogs are so cute and cuddly. I would’ve expected you to pick something strong, like a shark or a grizzly bear.”
“A grizzly bear? Really?”
“Addie did say you growled and grunted like one.” Rosalie smirked.
Colin rubbed at his face, but she could see the smile behind his hand as he tried to hide it.
