Rosalie walked in front of him and opened the door. “See you then,” she whispered.

After tucking Addie safely into bed, Colin walked downstairs to the palace’s press office. He really wanted to make it up to Rosalie for forgetting her birthday, and he knew exactly how he could.

One of the palace secretaries immediately stood and curtsied to him when he entered the room. “How can I help you, Your Majesty?”

“How quickly could you get me the king of Wistonia’s personal phone number?” he asked.

The palace secretary leaned over her computer, typing for a moment, and then his phone buzzed.

“I’ve sent his number to your phone.”

“You’re the best. Thank you.”

He left the room and made his way to a bench in the hallway before pulling out his phone and opening the message he had received. He saved Liam’s phone number and sent him a text message.

Colin:Hello, King Liam. This is King Colin.

Colin’s brows furrowed.

Colin:What?

Colin:I’m not a hacker.

Colin:This is Colin.

Liam:Prove it.

Colin clicked the little camera button in the text conversation, took a selfie, and hit send.

Colin:I need your help with something…

Chapter Eighteen

Rosalie

Rosalie was sitting on her favorite balcony overlooking the ocean when she heard footsteps behind her, heavy and sure. She instantly knew it was Colin without even turning her head.

Her heart fluttered at the fact that he was near. It had been doing a lot of that lately, as their relationship continued to blossom. Ever since he’d cared for her when she had the flu, she couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking. Couldn’t help but wonder if he was feeling the same way she was. I mean, he had literallywinkedat her the other day. Colin wasnotthe kind of man who walked around winking at people. That had to mean something.

“Rosalie.” Colin cleared his throat.

She turned to face him, the whisper of a smile on her lips.

“I have a surprise for you.”

Her eyebrows lifted in question. “What kind of surprise?”

“It’s a belated birthday present.” He motioned for her to follow him. “Come on.”
