Larry nodded, then shook his head. He huffed and rolled his eyes. “Look, maybe we can talk first? I’m kind of in a weird spot up here.” He tapped his left temple.

Weird spots were dangerous ones if a sub and Domdidn’t communicate. “Of course,” Bo agreed. “Do you want to meet for dinner first then? Have a discussion about whatever it is you want to talk about away from the club and the distractions that might be there?” His heart pounded as he awaited Larry’s answer. He was asking Larry out on a date, and Larry hadn’t come across as the kind of guy who liked dating. He’d been clear about not mixing sexand BDSM.

Yet the attraction between them was sexualandone of power exchange.

“I…” Larry trailed off.

“It’s not a date,” Bo added, though he had just been thinking it was.

Larry scowled. “It’s dinner and talking. That’s not a date?”

Bo hadn’t been so nervous since he’d been a teenage boy asking out his first guy. “Is every meal you share with someone a date?”

That made Larry laugh. “Ugh,family, you know?” Then he looked sad. “No, I mean, I don’t know if I want it to be a date or not. I don’t—well, that’s why we should talk, right?”

As confused as he was, Bo didn’t ask any questions. “Right. So, dinner tonight? Do you have any place you’d like to go?”

“My choice?” Larry hummed and tapped his chin with one finger. “You’re not pushing the Dom thing. That’s cool.”

“You told meyou didn’t want that outside of a playroom,” Bo reminded him.

Larry stopped tapping his chin and lowered his hand. “No, I said any place we agreed on, or something to that effect. Guess it doesn’t matter. I’m not going to play the part of a good boy unless we’re at the club. Let’s meet at Patricio’s. You know where that is?”

Bo grinned. “Yeah, we inspected it last week. It scored a ninety-six,so it’s a decent place to eat.”

“Oh, God, you’re going to tell me horror stories about restaurants, and I’ll probably never eat out again,” Larry groused. “Okay. I gotta get to work. See you later.”

“Yeah, see you at six.” Bo restrained himself from letting out a whoop of delight. He had hoped to get to play with Larry again. What he hadn’t dared to wish for was anything more than that.

Hewaited until he was in his car before he laughed and rubbed his hands together. It was only a little after one. The hours were going to drag by.
