I shrug. “It’s real. I live in it.”

“No, that’s not right. No one feels good all the time.” Ambrose makes a face.

“I do.” All I can do is laugh.

“I knew there was something wrong with you,” Ambrose mutters.

I smack him over Tobi.

He hits me back.

“Hey! No fighting over me. I’m going to be the one who gets hurt.” Tobi has a point.

After a while, Ambrose groans. “I need to eat, and you need to go home so I can have some alone time with Tobi.”

I huff, but he’s right. I have practice early, and there is no way I can stay. “Trying to get rid of me so you can have your way with him?”

“Not your fucking business.” Ambrose gets up, clearly hard.

“Jealous you walked in on us naked?” I look around for my boxers.

“No, just ready for alone time.” Ambrose walks me to the door. “You had your turn.”

I study him for a minute before saying, “Just remember when you’re touching him, my tongue was inside him the whole time you were at practice.”

“You tongue fucked him before me?!” he asks, horrified.

“Not my fault you’re a gentleman or whatever and taking it slow.”

His lip curls in a snarl, but he’s still tenting his slacks, which makes me think he likes hearing about it.

Tobi clears his throat. “If you’re not both going to shut up and get me off again…”

“If that’s what you want, baby girl.” I try to step around Ambrose, but he shoves me the last foot out the door and closes it in my face.

THIRTY-ONE

TOBI

My phone rings, as I get back to the dorm after classes.

“Hey, Mom.” I hold the phone against my shoulder to set my backpack down.

“Tobi! I’m so glad you answered. I’m calling a family dinner. It’s been too long since my boys were home. Does Tuesday work for you?”

I sigh and rub my eyes. “I can’t do Tuesdays. I have my long lab that day.”

“Okay, what about Thursday? Those are the only days Rhys and Teddy can both do.”

“Why is Rhys coming?” Is that bitchy? It feels bitchy.

“Him and Teddy live together. It’s only a matter of time until they get married, and let’s be honest, he’s been a part of this family for years.”

I roll my eyes and clench my teeth. The last fucking thing I want to do is go to family fucking dinner with goddamn Rhys.

“Fine, I can do Thursday.” I sigh and sit down on my bed. “What time?”

“Dinner is at six, like it’s always been.”
