“Reminds me of someone else I know,” Jenna said, opening her eyes wide to apply mascara.

“Well, sassy girl, he’s looking forward to meeting you. I’ve told him a lot about you.”

Jenna spritzed her face with a setting spray, then hopped down from the counter. “I never say no to good Italian food.”

Mark landed a smack on her ass as she walked past him and Jenna yelped. “Speaking of, you’d better get dressed. Our reservation is in an hour,” he said.

“What, you don’t like my outfit?” Jenna gestured to her oversized T-shirt that said, “We were on a break!” with a graphic of Ross and Rachel. Other than that, she was wearing only panties.

“I like it plenty for around the house, but I don’t need Scott seeingthatmuch of you… He hasn’t gotten laid in a while.”

Jenna rolled her eyes, although she felt her pussy clench at the idea of Mark being so territorial over her already.

“I’m not sure this dress will cover much more of the goods,” she called to him as he disappeared into the bedroom. She grabbed the little black cocktail number Mindy had set out for her on a hanger that morning.

Mark’s personal assistant was like a ninja. Jenna had still never seen her, but suddenly she had a perfectly tailored wardrobe in the closet. Mindy seemed to anticipate her every need even before she could. There was even an assortment of perfumes on her bathroom vanity that morning that Jenna was sure hadn’t been there before.

She had just stepped into the dress and was reaching awkwardly over her shoulder to try to grab the zipper when she saw her phone on the counter lighting up with a call from Chloe. Leaving the dress undone, she quickly reached to answer it.

Jenna had been texting Chloe nonstop since Mark had decided they were moving in together, but there had been no response. She figured it was because of the poor reception at whatever vacation home Simon had booked for them.

“Finally!” she said as she swiped to answer.

“Hey, Jen.” Chloe sounded deflated, and Jenna’s smile faded instantly.

“What’s wrong?”

“It’s over with Simon.”

“What? Oh no, Chlo, what happened?”

“Oh, nothing dramatic. He just… he’s been ignoring me the whole weekend. I think he’s lost interest.”

“Lost interest in you? Impossible,” Jenna insisted.

“It happens, especially with guys on that website,” Chloe said with a sigh. “It’s fine, it just sucks. I was starting to think he might be different. But anyway, I got home last night. Sorry I didn’t call, I just needed to hermit for the evening.”

Jenna hated hearing her sound so sad. “I’m really sorry, Chlo. You deserve so much better.”

“Yeah, well, I think I need a sugar daddy break,” Chloe said. “What are you doing tonight?”

“Well… I have a lot to catch you up on,” Jenna said.

CHAPTER 13

“Thanks for changing the reservation to four people,” Jenna told Mark as they maneuvered through the streets of downtown San Francisco. “I know it’s last minute, but Chloe was just super down. I couldn’t leave her alone tonight.”

“I think it’s great. You get to meet my best friend and I get to meet yours,” Mark told her. He reached over and rested his hand on her knee as he drove. “I’m sorry Chloe is in a bad spot though.”

“Yeah, I never got to meet Simon but he sounds like a jerk.”

“Does Chloe know about… us?” Mark glanced over at her.

“I told her I moved in with you, yeah. I didn’t tell her any of the details yet.”

“You didn’t tell her that I threatened to take you over my knee if you didn’t come live with daddy like a good little girl?” Mark teased, and Jenna couldn’t help squirming in her seat.

“No, I did not,” she said indignantly. “I wouldn’t want to ruin her first impression of you.”
