"I can do it," I pushed away from the pen.

"No. Get James; he will know what to do."

"I said I'll do it, delta, and I can." Before he could argue further, I stepped out into the cold wind again, going straight for the chicken coops.

The chickens were frantic, feeding off the energy in the weather, but one thing about chickens is they would do anything for food. All day, any day, they wanted to eat, and so I pulled some carrots that James had left in his pocket out and tossed them into the coop, then added a few scoops of food. They flocked forward, rushing into the enclosure as I used a cane that was on the wall to corral the rest. When the last chicken was in the coop, I slammed the door, flipping the lock.

The sky rumbled, reminding me that time was short, and when I reached the cows, rain had begun to lightly fall. I wasn't delusional enough to think it would remain this light. In fact, I assumed any moment the sky would break into a pour, which made me thankful that the cows had all sought shelter on their own. I helped scoot them in, made them comfortable with hay and grain, filled their water, then pulled closed the door separating them from the outside elements.

My walk back to the barn was wet. The rain fell faster, harder, and the wind howled furiously. When I entered the barn and approached the delta, he looked up. "I told you to get James."

"It's done," I assured him before kneeling next to him. "Let me help."

"Omega, this isn't a job for you." I'd never seen Leo so grumpy, and I wasn't sure I liked it. Though I knew that this was his job and his life, and he took it all seriously, I was able to help him.

"I grew up on a farm," I blurted out, and he froze, his eyes going wide.

"Well, well, omega... that explains a lot." I jumped at the sound of James's voice behind me. "Why didn't you say anything?"

His voice was like warm honey, and my omega howled her pleasure.

Mine. Mine. Mine.

"I – I didn't think it would make a difference. You didn't want me," I looked toward the ground.

"Correction, we always wanted you; I just didn't think we deserved an omega who should have a better life. However, if you grew up on a farm, then maybe you were meant for this one." He stepped forward, his palm going to my cheek. "You didn't come back."

"It's because our sneaky omega was cooping the chickens and locking the cows in for the night," Leo responded. "We're about to have two new babes on this farm. Perfect night for it, wouldn't you say?"

James laughed, though it was humorless. "Stick around, omega; we're in for a long night. Maybe you can help."

He leaned forward, kissing my forehead, before rolling up his sleeves and getting to work, helping Leo. The sight of them helping a mama with her baby made my omega purr with lust, and though I tried to talk her down, she wasn't listening. She wanted them, she needed them, she had to have them... Now.

But I pushed her want aside and knelt next to them, getting my hands dirty with the miracle I was witnessing until we had two healthy babies on our hands. I helped clean up, assistingLeo to lay down a fresh bed of hay, before giving some food and water. It was after one before we made it into the house, each of us so damn tired we could barely stand.

I loved it.

I loved... them.

The thought was a jolt to my system, making me suddenly hyper aware that they were close to me as we entered our home. Bran appeared as soon as he heard the door, checking on us even though I knew he had been texting Leo throughout the night. He smiled when he saw us, the sight of him slightly ruffled so damn endearing.

"The babes okay?"

"Perfect," James's gruff voice answered.

"Great." I wish I felt as cheerful as he looked. "You guys stink."

"Thanks for the insult and stating the obvious," Leo replied dryly. "Omega. Will you..." He licked his lips, and my eyes followed. "Shower with us?"

"I-" I had never showered with anyone before. Even my old pack kept their distance, making me feel unwanted. But these men, they clearly wanted me. I should be bashful, and I am, but they had already woken me up with their tongues on my body. They'd seen all of me. What else did I have to be ashamed of? "I've never done that before."

A growl of satisfaction rumbled through James. What I never mentioned was that though I'd never showered with someone before, I'd also never seen a man naked. My cheeks heated, and I looked away.

Another rumble before James answered. "We'll shower and sleep, that's all, omega."

Then he bent over, wrapped his arms around my legs, and flung me over his shoulder, taking me down the hall and notdropping me until we were standing in the middle of their shared bathroom.
