‘Yeah, they’re a good pack. I don’t see us leaving without a new ally,’ he said. I nodded and took a moment to look around. The two packs had started to intermingle and I smiled as I saw how they stood around the food, talking and helping each other.

“It’s you!” I heard a female voice exclaim.

“Mate!” a male one replied. I knew that voice. My smile grew big as both Finlay and I stood up and walked in the direction of the voices. We were joined by Alpha Jonas and Luna Beatrice. On the other side of the fire, Ramses stood looking at a cute woman with total adoration. She was looking back at him like she couldn’t believe her eyes. The wolves around them had backed away, giving the two of them space. Finlay put his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into him. I could feel his happiness for our friend. Ramses woke up from his daze and began walking towards his mate, she did the same and they met in the middle.

“I am Ramses, my home is in the Blue Mountain pack,” Ramses said and reached for her.

“I’m Kayla from the Winter Peak pack,” she said and placed her hand in his. I made the connection and looked at the Alpha couple next to me. They were both smiling and Luna Beatrice had tears in her eyes. They looked to be happy tears.

‘That’s the Alpha couple’s daughter,’ I mindlinked Finlay. He looked down at me in surprise and then looked at the couple next to me.

‘Do you think it will be an issue?’ he asked.

‘I don’t think so, but I think we might have to part ways with Ramses. I don’t know if Kayla would be willing to switch packs.’

‘That is always a risk,’ he agreed. We looked at the new couple and I couldn’t help but smile again. Even if we did lose him, I was happy for Ramses. He deserved to find his true mate and be happy. After standing and looking into each other’s eyes for awhile, the two of them walked off, hand in hand. Everyone would leave them until they were ready to come back.

‘They were more collected than us,’ Finlay pointed out. I blushed as I remembered our claiming in the woods and elbowed him in the side.

‘Don’t make me think about it in the middle of a crowd of werewolf with excellent smell,’ I told him. He chuckled and kissed my heated cheek.

“Congratulations,” Finlay said to the Alpha couple next to us. “Ramses is an amazing wolf, he will make your daughter happy.” Both parents smiled at us.

“I saw him in action during the Game. I’m pleased to welcome him to the family,” Alpha Jonas said.

“If the goddess saw it fit to match him with Kayla, he has to be special. She can be a handful,” Luna Beatrice said and giggled. I liked how easily they accepted Ramses without even meeting him. It made me even more convinced we were doing the right thing to have this pack as an ally. As the couple had gone and there was nothing left to see, the packs resumed what they had been doing. I could hear the exciting discussions. If one couple could meet their true mate, so could others. It gave them all hope.

‘This was one of our best ideas ever,’ I told Finlay as we returned to our place by the fire.

‘I agree.’

Chapter 77

Finlay

Alpha Jonas and I were deep in discussion regarding the alliance we both wanted. Their pack was in the top twenty packs, and more importantly they shared many of our moral beliefs.

‘Honey,’ Amie mindlinked me to get my attention. I looked at her and saw her look in the opposite direction. I looked the same way and smirked as I saw Ramses and his new mate come walking. Both were sporting a new mate mark. They had been gone for a couple of hours and looked happy as they walked up to us. Ramses had a relaxed, soft smile on his face I had never seen on him before. It made him look younger and I liked it. Kayla had a determined look on her face.

“Mom, dad. Alpha Finlay and Luna Amie. Ramses and I have decided what we want to do. I’m going to be moving to the Blue Mountain pack. I love our pack, but I need a change and Ramses has built a house that is waiting for us. I know we will be happy wherever we are so that is what we will do,” she told us. Her parents were smiling.

“That is nice, bug, but it’s custom to ask the Alpha of the pack you are moving to if that’s okay,” her father told her and chuckled.

“Oh shit. I’m sorry Alpha Finlay, Luna Amie. May I please join your pack?” Kayla asked and turned towards us. I liked her. Amie looked at me and we both laughed.

“We would be happy to have you,” I told her. “Ramses why don’t you go back with the Winter Peak pack and help your mate pack and get ready to leave. We will make sure the two of you get back home when it’s time. We can spare you for a week or two,” I added.

“I appreciate it, Alpha. If it’s okay with you Alpha Jonas?” Ramses said.

“You are family, it’s just Jonas. And it sounds like a great idea. That way our family can say goodbye without feeling rushed.” The couple walked away to get some food.

“Thank you for letting him come back with us,” Luna Beatrice said.

“I still remember having to let Amie go for two weeks while she got her business in order before joining the pack. It was torture and we weren’t even mated,” I told her.

“I have been told he was a menace to the pack,” Amie added with a giggle. Luna Beatrice giggled as well. The two had fast become friends. Alpha Jonas and I exchanged an amused look.

“I’ll be right back,” I told Amie and kissed her cheek. “Don’t go anywhere,” I added, just to be sure.
