“You’re the filthy, gorgeous and sexy girl of my dreams. Your polished package is bonus.” I give her a crooked smile, leaning down and dropping a soft kiss on her lips.
She lets out a soft moan.
“The gift is for you,” I jerk my chin to the bag. “Open it.”
“My heart is beating so fast. I don’t know if I can.”
“I know you can.”
I move out of the way. With trembling hands she rummages through the bag until she finds a small gold box.
“I should open it, right?” she asks.
“Unless you’re psychic, I don’t know how else you’ll find out what’s in there,” I tease.
“Why don’t you just tell me?”
“Nah. That would take all the fun out of it.”
“Right,” she nods.
She lifts the lid very carefully.
She’s speechless.
Her eyes bounce from the box to mine.
“Loki?!” she pants. “What’s this?”
I tilt my head to the side. “What does it look like?”
“A key?!”
“Yeah. It’s a key to that fabulous property I was telling you about… the one with the great deck. The same one we’re on right now.”
“Oh, my God.”
“It’s an extra key to my place… I guess I should say, our place.”
“Oh, God,” she fans herself with one hand.
“I spent most of the day cleaning out my closet and drawers to make room for you. The cleaning lady was here as well to help clear out some of the other rooms. You might need an office for when it’s raining outside and you can’t write on the deck.”
“I can’t believe this,” a tear rolls down her face.
I reach out, trailing a finger softly down her neck.
“Believe it,” I murmur. “Move in with me, Kyla. Thanksgiving is in a couple of weeks. Let’s spend our first one together… at our place.”
“I don’t know what to say.”
“You don’t want to move in with me?” I tease.
She does this giddy dance against her seat. “I do!”
“So it’s a yes?”
“Absolutely!” she laughs between her tears.
