I’ve known for a few weeks now, but I was unwilling to admit to myself. Hearing Hayden and Stella say the word makes it real. Loki holds my heart.
I’m so fucked.
I don’t think I can survive unrequited love.
I open my mouth to deflate her question––okay, downright lie––but Hayden doesn’t give me a chance.
“No one would blame you, Kyla,” she continues. “Loki is the full package. He’s super sexy, tall, incredibly fit, smart, well-educated, well-traveled, he has impeccable manners and he’s a success in his own right. And there’s the other side… the alpha dominant lover with a tendency for all things kinky. Of course, after six weeks we can’t ignore the fact Loki is also a tender and loving boyfriend who’s fiercely protective of his girl,” she sighs.
Stella does the same.
I still can’t breathe.
Yeah, Loki is all that.
“Aaahhh, Mr. Lochlan Berkshire,” Hayden’s words hold a touch of longing. “You can’t get better than that… unless you’re one of the owners of a topnotch security company and you’re former military. And tall. And hot. And built like a fighting machine. And those eyes… But I digress. That’s a whole other story.”
I didn’t see that one coming.
I explode in laughter.
So does Stella.
Hayden is grinning from ear to ear.
“As I was saying,” she picks up where she left off. “For six weeks it was just the two of you. It was inevitable.”
“Yeah,” I nod. “It was a temporary living arrangement. I doubt he’d want me crowding his space here in LA. Not to mention, do bad boys fall for a girl or are they immune…?”…to love.
