“Well, thank God I’m off the hook since Mom knows I’m too focused on my career to date. The baton is passed onto you,” she grins. “It’syourresponsibility to carry on the familynames, Mrs. Berkshire O’Keeffe Gianniello.”
“Har, har—”
Over Harlow’s shoulder, I spot a familiar face.
Huh?
I blink.
I’m seeing things.
I blink harder.
I even squint.
This isn’t possible.
“What is it?” Harlow asks.
“Either I’m crazy or that guy over there really looks a lot like Loki.”
She turns around.
“You mean that tall guy walking towards us?” she asks locking her gaze with mine.
“Yes. Since I talked to him this morning and he was in LA, your brother must have a doppelganger. Either that or he was separated at birth with his identical twin brother,” I laugh.
“Oh, dear sister-friend, that’s the real deal.”
“That’s Loki?”
She nods and just grins at me.
I stare, totally stunned as Loki approaches us.
The sight of him robs me of my breath.
The searing heat in his eyes sends a shiver along every nerve ending in my body.
The pounding in my ears—and my heart—drowns out the commotion around me. My mind races.
“Wh––what’s going on, Harlow?”
