CHAPTER 28

Lochlan

“Blade. Artemis. It’s good to see you again.”

“Zeus,” I say with a small nod.

“Good evening, Zeus,” Kyla says.

Every member knows Larkin’s real name, but when he sets foot at Dark Compulsion, he’s Zeus—the ancient Greek God of Sky and Thunder, who rules as king of the gods of Mount Olympus. How fitting.

Kyla’s name is also straight out of Greek mythology. Artemis is the Goddess of Light. She was known for her wildness—her refusal to conform to conventional ways or tradition. She was fierce and compassionate—what a perfect balance. Artemis had the divine duty of illuminating the darkness. That’s my Kyla.

“Artemis, you look breathtaking tonight… then again, aren’t you always,” Larkin says.

“Thank you,” Kyla beams.

Larkin sweeps a critical eye up and down the length of Kyla’s body. He meets my gaze and cocks an eyebrow before returning his attention to the brunette smiling up at him. “I might be wrong, but everything suggests there’s more to this outfit.”

“Nothing gets by you, Zeus,” she says.

“I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in if it did,” Larkin tells her.

Larkin is a razor sharp businessman. Rumor has it, his dramatic childhood shaped him into the man he is. Rumor also has it, there are many layers to his empire. In other words, you don’t want to cross him.

“Well, this dress is perfect for tonight,” she says. That glint of mischief in her eyes doesn’t go unnoticed.

Kyla is wearing a gorgeous long black designer overdress with bronze-colored crystals and beading embellishments at the bottom—she calls it a kaftan, or something like that. She says she has a gift for me hiding underneath it.Cheeky Kyla. She’s taking this very seriously. In fact, she refused to spend the night at my place, stating she had a big production planned. To make matters worse, she’s been teasing me since I picked her up. What she forgets is two can play at that game.

Bring it on, dumpling.

“Great turn out tonight,” I observe, scouring the room.

“Indeed,” Larkin agrees. “The beautiful thing about Saturdays––just like Fridays––is that the kinkiness can stretch over a few days.”

“Good point,” I laugh.

“I’m not sure if it’s because a full moon is coming, but the Eros Den is particularly busy tonight. It’s wild down there. There must be half a dozen scenes going on right now. I had to add a few dungeon supervisors to make sure nothing gets out of hand.”

“That’s definitely not something we’ll experience first-hand,” I say.

“Of course,” Larkin nods, his gaze shifting to Kyla. “As I understand it, it isn’t Artemis’s cup of tea.”

“It’s a bit much for me,” she admits.

I took Kyla down to the basement a few weeks ago to give her a taste of the edgier side of Dark Compulsion. A mask concealed her face, giving her free range to observe. She was shocked to say the least. This is a lifestyle people commit to––not something you slide in and out of. That said, since we’ve been together, she’s lost her appetite for vanilla sex. We’ve tried blindfolds, cuffs, beads and feathering. We took things further with some very gentle flogging with a synthetic fur flogger, which made for some sensual and stingless play. You wouldn’t believe how much she liked all of those. I even roped her hands behind her back and she was turned on like crazy. She wants to keep the kinky between us and she doesn’t feel the urge to display it in front of the Eros Den crowd. Since I’ve never had the desire to become a dom, I’m okay with that. It seems her penchant for exhibitionism has its limits. The idea of being seen is erotic enough for her. I’ll be honest, I don’t have a problem keeping the naughty little games we play between us. Same goes for her sexy ass body—for my eyes only. I’m happy to be her master behind closed doors.

“And that’s what makes Dark Compulsion stand out. Even our hardcore members need variety. After all, you can’t have a steak dinner every night.”

Kyla and I laugh.

Larkin’s phone chimes in. “If you’ll excuse me,” he says looking down at his screen. “Ah, I’m needed elsewhere. I apologize, but I have to cut this short.”

“Not a problem,” I say.

“We understand,” Kyla says.

“Your suite is ready… it should be avery enjoyablenight for both of you.”
