“I love your epic movie voice.”
“I knew you would,” she winks. “So what’s next for Kyla and Loki?”
Knowing Harlow is in my camp is amazing.
“I want to keep seeing her. I hope it’s mutual.”
“Oh, it is. I’m willing to bet my trust fund on it.”
“What makes you so sure, sis?”
“If you were a random guy, Kyla would’ve been spilling her guts on WhatsApp, sharing every single detail. And I mean every. Single. Detail. But, five weeks after you bumped into her at a posh hotel, I haven’t heard a peep. We’ve had video chats and we’ve texted, yet I was in the dark. I’m certain it’s mutual. She’s keeping this one close to her heart.”
Don’t ask me why, but I can’t help grinning like a fool.
“Do Stella and Hayden know?” Harlow asks.
“They do. They’ve been on it since the beginning. Kyla didn’t hold back. It did come in handy. Now, they’re my partners in crime as I get to know Kyla better.”
“Oh my God, Stella must love this.”
“You have no idea. She’s taking her role as undercover investigator very seriously,” I chuckle. “Hayden is as invested, but she doesn’t show it as much.”
“Typical.” Harlow pauses. “I may not want to know the sordid details of what happens behind closed doors, but if there’s anything you want to know about Kyla, you can ask me.”
“Thanks, sis. I will. Although, I fear Stella will be crushed,” I chuckle.
“I think you’re right. Well, you could always use me as a sounding board.”
“Deal!”
“When are you going to tell Mom and Dad?”
“I was going to talk to Kyla about it over the weekend. I was going to suggest I organize a dinner at my place. I’d invite her parents and brothers, and Mom and Dad. I’ll make the announcement to the cousins right after. They know we had a first date, but not much more.”
“So you’re going to make it official?”
“It’s only been Kyla since we bumped into each other at the Quintus.” And I hadn’t been with anyone in a really long time before that. “I’m proud of being seen with her. It’s time for the whole world to know Kyla O’Keeffe is my girl.”
