Fuck.

Considering how hot and heavy things have been between us since we started dating, I doubt I’ll be able to jerk off enough times to compensate.

“Rod?”

I’m vaguely aware of someone calling out my name. I’m too mesmerized to care.

Dom smiles at me and I have to force myself not to respond.

Damn, woman. What are you doing to me?

“Rod?”

Loki’s voice cuts through my inappropriate daydreaming.

Shit.

Focus, Wolfe.

“I apologize. You were saying?”

He frowns, before shifting his squinted eyes to where my girlfriend is standing and back to me.

“Isaidthere are certain terms about this contract that need to get the blessing from the legal team.”

“Yes,” I nod. “It’s best if we’re all on the same page,” I add in an attempt to save face.

Loki looks at me like I have two heads.

“We’ve been at it for three hours, I vote we call it a day. Let’s reconvene when the legal team gives us the green light,” Loki suggests. “Jude, Solomon, my executive assistant will be in touch.”

Thank God one of us still has his head in the game.

“Of course,” the two men from Veemonth Records sitting across from us say in unison.

We’ve been entertaining Jude Pennington and Solomon Rosen—two execs from the second largest recording company in the world. Dinosaurs have to learn new tricks or they’re destined to become extinct. Three years ago, as we were starting out, we worked with a relatively unknown DJ to revive singer Mr. Probz’s,‘Waves’.The song got some traction, but it never really topped the chart. Also, the original video was a snooze. Dom worked her magic and her cool version took the song to new heights. Half a billion views later, the video propelled the club remix to the top of the charts in twenty countries. Since then, we’ve had countless similar success stories. It’s no surprise Veemonth Records want some of that magic.

“Rod, you’re okay with that?” Loki turns his attention to me.

“Absolutely!” I say, already looking forward to getting the hell out of this room.

I chance a glance in Dom’s direction, but she’s gone.

Damn.

Once the customary parting greetings are over and done with, I set off to find Dom, but not before Loki gives me a piece of his mind.

“What the fuck?”

“Sorry. I got a little distracted,” I explain.

“A little? Rod, you were practically eye-fucking your girlfriend. Thank God Jude and Solomon were too consumed by the contract to notice.”

“Sorry,” I repeat. “It won’t happen again.” I meant to stop at that, but for some reason, my mouth keeps running. “I’m just not used to this.”

“The relationship?” Loki asks cautiously.

“No. I can’t get enough of her. I mean, I just can’t get her out of my fucking system. And God knows I’ve tried.”Many, many, many times.
