“Or whatever.” I sighed, kicking my feet up on the wicker table in front of me.
My eyes found Messiah’s, and that famous smirk was on his face with lust in his eyes. I smiled, returning the sentiment and licking my lips.
Another round of sucking on her rabbit teeth pulled my attention toward her while still holding a smile on my face.
Sis was bothered. And I was happy to have been the person causing her discomfort.
“I’ll have him back around eight,” she said with much attitude.
Messiah kept his eyes on me as he responded to her, saying, “Keep him until tomorrow, unless he wants to come home.”
“Whatever,” she said, waving him off and storming back inside.
“You gon’ make me fuck the shit out of your mean ass.”
“I’m starting to think you like it when I’m mean.”
His head seesawed. “Eh, I kind of do. It gives me a reason to knock the bottom out of that pussy.”
“Don’t threaten me with a good time.”
We laughed as he lifted me, carrying me back inside.
Messiah and I walked inside Essence Bar & Grill and were escorted to a table in the back. We were meeting with the R&B rap stars, Knowledge and KP. How Messiah was able to get a meeting with them, I would never know, but I wanted my sister to have the wedding of her dreams. I loved KP’s music. She waslike a modern-day Nicki Minaj, but without all the raw craziness she exuded. Plus, KP’s singing voice was way better, and that wasn’t a diss to the megastar.
“Free Mind” by Tems crooned through the speakers, and I looked around, loving the vibe. It reminded me of the lounge part of my club, only my space was a little bigger without a stage.
A waiter approached our table with a smile and a bottle of wine.
“Good evening, lady and gentleman. My name is Martel, and I’ll be your server for tonight. The bottle of wine is courtesy of the owner, Mr. Jason. He’ll be right out to speak with you all in a second.”
“’Preciate it, brother. You want something else, love?” Messiah asked me.
“A shot of Don Julio.”
“Gotcha. Anything for you, sir?” Martel asked.
“I’ll have the same, but make mine a double.”
“Alrighty. Be back shortly. Enjoy.” He walked away as I rocked my body to the beat.
“This is really nice,” I complimented.
“Yeah, it’s dope.”
“So, how were you able to get a meeting with the superstars?”
“I actually used to hang out with Kema’s brother-in-law, K Millz, before the fame. I pulled up on him at his studio, and he agreed to talk to them about doing the wedding. Apparently, they agreed to meet, so we’re here to talk numbers.”
“Ah, got it.” I nodded. “It’s really nice what you’re doing for my sister, but you’re going to have to let me pay for something.”
“I agreed to pay for the wedding, Juice. That includes everything it comes with.”
“I get that, but you already paid for the cake, the shoes, the venue, and now you’re trying to pay for the entertainment. You do know none of this comes cheap, right?”
He leaned in closer to me and said in a low tone, “If I remember correctly, you told her to dig deep into my empty-ass pockets to give her the wedding of her dreams, no?”
I smirked and rolled my eyes at him. “Whatever, sir. Do what you will. Clearly, I was wrong about your pockets being empty. You’re going to have to tell me exactly what you do at that office.”
