I’d even go as far as saying I was taking my anger out on her because I was fucking irritated with my decisions and partially depressed. Upset that her ass trapped me and depressed because my fucking job was way too demanding. I loved the fuck out of my son, but I didn’t ask to be a father, primarily not with a woman as dense as Jalea. She may have had a little book smarts, but she had nothing else going for her. She was just a good time and good pussy.
As I walked through the crowd with my thoughts in shambles, I wasn’t paying attention and bumped into a woman, spilling my drink all over her blouse.
“Damn it! You can’t see where you’re going?”
“My apologies. I got distracted.”
Since when do you apologize?
I never apologized, especially to rude-ass women like this one standing in front of me. It had to be the liquor, I surmised. I watched as she stared at me, anger etched all over her pretty face, but I noticed a hint of admiration as well.
I inwardly shook my head. “Here. Let me pay for my mistake.” I reached inside my pocket, retrieved my wallet, and handed her my Amex. I don’t know why I was giving her my card when I had a pocket full of cash. But it was the least I could do to show her my apology was genuine for ruining her blouse. Baby looked like she was pissed, as if she had to return it to the store tomorrow, but wanted to look expensive for the night.
“Do you always give your cards away to strangers?”
“I don’t, but for you I will.”
“I could take that card and max it out... Then what?”
I smirked. “You can’t max out a card that has no limit. Allow me to extend my apologies by paying for your dry cleaning… or shopping spree.”
Fuck you on, Si? You’re trippin’ the fuck out, giving this chick access to your paper, and you don’t even know her.
If I was being honest, I was feeling too good from those shots. It had to be the shots. I would have never done so otherwise. Her eyes sized me up before they landed on the center of my jeans. The smirk remained on my face because, as hard as she was acting, I knew if given the opportunity, she’d let me snatch her soul.
“You’re staring at me like you want to fuck me and kill me. That ain’t gon’ solve the problem, mama. Either take the card or move around.”
“Or kill you... that option doesn’t sound too bad.”
I scoffed. “You wouldn’t make it out of this club alive, shorty. Let’s not throw out empty threats. I’d hate to have to hurt such a beautiful woman.”
She laughed obnoxiously loudly. So loud, I knew she had a little crazy in her. Her beautiful white teeth and button nose had me a little dazed. She was probably the baddest woman I’d ever encountered. It wasn’t just her outer appearance; it was something inwardly that gave me classy, bougie, gutta—savage. I wanted her, and I was going to make it my mission to have her, if only for the night.
“You know what... I like you, so I’m going to let you walk away. I don’t want nor need your money, nigga. With the way I’m feeling, you better be glad I’m walking away instead of putting one in your big-ass forehead. Enjoy the rest of your night.”
She bumped me so hard that I almost snatched her ass back by her ponytail, but I let her rock. I wouldn’t do my new boo like that. Not unless I was behind her delivering this dick in her spine.
“What was that about?” Mo asked, walking up to me. I kept my eyes on Miss Mean Ass until I saw her walking up a flight of stairs.
“Where Marlo at?” I asked, eyes never leaving her until she disappeared through the door.
“Shit, if I know. Why you staring at shorty so hard?” he jested, bumping my shoulder. I rubbed my hand across my chin, contemplating whether I should follow her or wait for her to leave. I chose the former.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Si, leave that chick alone. I heard her ass was crazy.”
I frowned. “You know her?”
Mo laughed. “Cool out, nigga. I didn’t smash.”
It was no secret my brothers got around. Jalea was an example of how much they did. There was no way I would run behind my brothers ever again.
“Good.”
“Nah, but Marlo mentioned her a few times I’d been in here. She isn’t very friendly and hates niggas. Don’t get caught up with her, bro.”
“I think I can manage.” I smirked at him before heading in the direction shorty went in. Before I could make it to the top, the door swung open, and Marlo stood, blocking my path.
