Itold Sugar to call me when she got home, and that led to us talking for two hours by the time I started to get sleepy. Talking to over a hundred people this evening had drained me of my energy. All I wanted to do was crash, but I didn’t want to hang up the phone just yet because I didn’t have the confidence her ass wouldn’t run away from what was building between us. While we didn’t know a lot about each other, the vibe and chemistry were right, and right now, that was all that mattered to me.
I didn’t realize I’d dozed off until I heard her scream, “Oh shit!”
My eyes popped open, and I sat up in bed. “Suge?”
“Ah, it’s on the bed! Cassius, it’s on the bed!”
“What’s on the bed?” I asked, leaping from mine.
“A moth! Ah!”
My feet stopped heading in the direction of my closet when my brain processed what she said.
“A moth?” I repeated, refusing to believe what I’d heard.
“Yes! It—okay. It flew away. Whew.” She released a shaky breath. “I thought you were about to w-w-witness my murder.”
For a second, the line was completely silent before I erupted with laughter. Between her nervous stutter and serious tone, I damn near died laughing. I mean, I laughed so hard tears collected in my eyes.
“Yooo,” I stretched, wiping my eyes. “Your ass is crazy as hell, Suge.”
“Hmm? Sorry, I’m distracted. He flying like he ready to go to war. I’ma stand up in case I have to fight for my life.”
I laughed at her ass as I continued toward the closet. I wouldn’t be able to sleep knowing she was scared of anything, even if it was a damn moth.
“Now how did you puff your chest out at me about your bad ass cousin, but you’re scared of a little moth?”
“I could’ve shot your big ass. Might not have killed you and I might’ve died myself, but I had a chance. I’m not confident enough in my aim to hit such a small target.”
I could hear her seriousness which only made me laugh harder. This girl was a true character. Instead of telling her I was coming over to kill the moth, I dressed in sweats and tossed a hoodie on before heading out. We talked and I kept her as distracted as I could, but she was focusing on that damn moth most of the time. I asked her why she wouldn’t just leave the room if she was so scared, and she said she wasn’t going to let anything or anyone run her out of her room.
When I pulled into her driveway, I told her, “Open the garage.”
“Huh?”
“I’m outside. Open the garage.”
“What’re you doing here?”
“You want me to kill the moth or not?”
“Bless you! I’m about to open it right now.”
The squealing sound she made as she ran out of her room had me shaking my head as I laughed. This girl was a big ass pussy cat, and for some reason, I liked that shit. After the garage let up, I parked and cut my car off. I was too tired to drive back to my side of town, so I was crashing here whether she wanted me to or not.
At the sight of her in a sheer gown that came just under her ass cheeks, my dick instantly bricked up. I licked my lips and took in every inch of her, reminding myself I hadn’t come here for all that.
“Hi.” She spoke sweetly as I pulled her into my arms for a hug.
“Wassup?”
We swayed from side to side as I buried my face in her neck. She nuzzled closer and inhaled my cologne. I picked her up and carried her back into her home. After closing the door, I told her to tell me where her bedroom was. As soon as we entered, I saw the moth on her window. I set her on her feet then killed it with her house shoe since that was the first thing I could grab.
“There,” I said, dropping the shoe onto her carpeted floor. “It’s dead.”
“My hero,” she sang, batting her long eyelashes at me teasingly before laughing.
