“If you keep looking at me like that, I’m going to think you like what you see, Cash.”
“Cassius,” I corrected, surprising my own damn self. Something about dealing with her in this capacity and hearing her call me Cash on top of that didn’t sit well with me.
“Cassius,” she repeated, enunciating each syllable carefully.
“You keep saying my name like that, and I’m going to think you like the way it tastes.”
“What if I do?” she asked sweetly.
“Then I’d want to see how it tastes too.”
I would also want to hear how it sounded with her moaning it, but we weren’t here for that.
At the sound of my challenge, some of her flirtatiousnature dimmed slightly, but it came back when she pulled her arms behind her back and said, “Cass?—”
Yanking her toward me, I lowered myself to her short ass and covered her lips with mine.
The fuck?
Why was I kissing her?
And why did it feel so good?
And why did she melt against me?
And why did her whimper mix with my moan?
Sugar clung to the sleeves of my shirt as I squeezed her soft, juicy ass.
Before I could really settle into what was happening, she pulled away.
“Uh, I-I have to g-go,” she stuttered, trying to push me away from her car.
Even with all her strength I didn’t budge. Chuckling, I moved to the side and opened the door for her.
“Y’all get home safely,” I said as she hopped into the car and avoided my eyes. Her head nodded rapidly as Tyreek stared at her. “Suge.”
She pulled in a vocal breath as her head slowly turned in my direction. “Yes?”
I lowered myself and tasted the sweetness of her lips again. Just one final peck. But even with that one peck, it was more tender and had me more turned on than any kiss I’d shared with any other woman. After closing the door, I stepped back and watched her swerve out of the parking lot like it was crumbling and trying to pull them in.
I don’t know what the hell was going on between me and this girl, but I couldn’t wait for this event to be over so I never had to deal with or see her again. With me struggling with the duality of my life, the last thing I needed was to be distracted over her . . . no matter how much she intrigued me.

SUGAR BABY
As the event drew to a close, I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I’d been a ball of nerves all evening and was grateful everything came out great. I couldn’t keep my mind off Cash. Usually I was able to lock in and focus no matter what, but between the kiss last night and him looking as good as he did tonight, my mind had been all over the place. I was grateful for my team showing up for me like they always did, but this event was personal. Regardless of the circumstances, there were a lot of powerful and prolific people in the room that I could benefit from being in contact with. I prayed they enjoyed the food enough to inquire about the chef.
I felt his presence before I saw or smelled him. When I looked up, my eyes locked with Cash’s. He looked phenomenal in his all black tuxedo. My mouth watered immediately as he walked toward me.
“Y’all can shut down for the evening,” he said. “We’re about to start doing last call at the bar as well.”
“Okay, cool,” I replied, looking back at Tyreek. “Reek, can you go ahead and start cleaning in here while Rittany and I break down everything in the ballroom?”
“Gotchu, cuzzo.”
