Fuck…

That was so hot.

So, so fucking hot.

I dragged the sheets over us, holding him tight as our breathing slowed, hearts thudding in sync.

He’d knotted me.

I was heady with happiness as he settled in beside me, holding me against his chest. We lay in the quiet, our breathing levelling out together.

I couldn’t read him through the bond now; it was locked down tight. How mad was he?

It was a while before I spoke after his knot had released me. He was tugging his boxers back on, but I didn’t want this over yet. Was he going to make me leave?

I reached over, picking up Bunny and glancing up at Ace anxiously. “I didn’t just scent match Rogue, you picked him too, right?” I asked.

Ace snorted. “I asked Rogue to join my pack a long time ago.”

“And you had no idea that he’d go and scent match me.”

“No.”

“So we kindabothpicked him?” I asked.

Ace considered me. “You could say that.”

“But Knox ismypick.”

There was a long silence.

“Do…?” I hesitated. “Do you promise you have a way for him to join the pack?”

“I said I did.”

“Are you holding out?”

Ace considered me carefully. “I’m not delaying it.”

“Youswear?”

He rolled his eyes. “I swear, Omega.”

I was worried. There was still a small…smallchance that he’d risk trying to get rid of Knox, and hope somehow I’d forgive him eventually…

How much did he truly resent that I’d chosen this time?

I got to my feet, pressing a hand to his chest. He released a breath at the touch, ice-blue eyes caught on mine.

“It’s just… one Alpha,” I whispered. “You picked all the others.”

He was impossible to read as he stared at me.

I chewed on my lip. “If you sleep in my nest for the night, that collar will be off by the morning.”

He narrowed his eyes, then his gaze fell to Bunny in my other hand. My heart dropped.

“No!” I tried to tug Bunny away, but he’d already seized him. “Don’t youdare!” I hissed, trying to rip him back. “Go rooting through Bunny’s pouch and I’ll send you back to oblivion.”
